Avoid Aliexpress via Paypal. All, yes ALL, transactions are being processed by Paypal as cash advance! Resulting in Credit Card Issuer inflicting a cash advance transaction fee + accrual of daily interest as high as 28% APR! No way to resolve and all three companies (CC, AE & Paypal) will circle jerk the finger pointing of who is responsible with no solution. Reddit is exploding with many customers getting hit with these fees in the tune of 10's and even 100's of dollars. Avoid!!!

Paying the balance early in Pay Monthly won't violate the terms.

Remove your PayPal account from eBay payment first. Now after making a purchase, it will redirect you to PayPal, pick 'pay in 4' from there.

if I make the purchase before Dec 9th, do I get the full 20% cashback or only for the payments done before Dec 9th?

I wonder if something about paying later with Paypal is triggering security at some places. Very odd. As my rejection was also today, I am encouraged by the possibility that it could allow me to try again tomorrow. I'll keep my fingers crossed.
I had already used it the previous day at Walmart using Pay in 4, and that wasn't canceled, and the actual # points showed up for that one, right away even. The items were all being shipped.

The biggest difference with the following day's order that got canceled by Walmart is that instead of a few items, I had 65 items, plus some were pickup while others were for shipping, and I had spent a long time putting that order together, and 3 items had "Walmart Cash" totaling $7. So, who knows exactly. Walmart could only say that it looked like their auto security system canceled it in error (twice).

Since I had this unusual activity clear the following day once before, I'm hoping that will indeed be the case this time as well.

Points are pending for the full purchase, whether you pay it off or not by Dec 9th. I'm quite confident you will get the full 20% as long as your individual purchases are no more than $1250 ea.

Do we need to lift the credit freeze?

I initially tried to use the deal and it rejected me, until I unfroze Equifax it a short time later, and then immediately was able to continue with using Pay in 4.

In the message center, I still have this message:

We regret that we are unable to approve your request at this time for the following reason:

Your credit bureau indicates a freeze on inquiries.

Our credit decision was based in whole or in part on information about your PayPal account and information obtained in a report from the consumer-reporting agency listed below. You have a right under the Fair Credit Reporting Act to know the information contained in your credit file at the consumer reporting agency. The reporting agency played no part in our decision and is unable to supply specific reasons why we have denied credit to you.

Any orders until the date it ends or the global limit of all members combined is reached.

Individual purchase limit is $1250 for $250 rewards per purchase.

I'm just surprised so many people are going with gift cards. Terms and conditions seem pretty clear that gift cards will not be covered, so don't be surprised when the 20% cashback doesn't apply or gets clawed back.

Correction - Earlier, I accidentally typed Experian, but it was Equifax, as can be seen in my copy/paste directly from my messages. I indeed went to Equifax to unfreeze my credit to get access to using Pay in 4.

Paypal 20% pay in 4 ads are popping up pretty much everywhere I go now.

Expect a full-on run on this promo over the weekend.

This worked for me once on ebay, and I could not get this to work again. Called Paypal and their rep said this promo only works for a single purchase, up to $1,250. Feels like BS but this is hwat's happening to me, so probably true.

I added Discover and have used it for 3 "Pay in 4" transactions.

Chase wouldn't appear in the selection list after adding it. Now my bank and Discover show.

Using this at Best Buy with 5% C B and Amex $25 on $250 Best Buy.

Bought a PS5 Pro as they're offering $300 trade in for my base launch day PS5 right now.

Question! The terms for Best Buy says that the $300 trade-in credit will get "refunded to my original purchase" within 15 days. I'm assuming that means PayPal will deduct the appropriate amount of points, but I hope it doesn't somehow mess up everything.

Some are willing to take the chance since they are spending the gift cards right away anyway, such as paying for their Disney trip. If they get the points then it's a bonus.

Personally I hesitate to stock up on gc since it's against the terms. We may miss out though
