11/26/2025 10:28am PST Update: This is now limited to ONE transaction, with 20% rewards back up to $1,250. Paypal email memo notes that the promotion for spend on multiple transactions prior to the notification will be honored.
Walmart:
1) you have to make sure Paypal is not a saved method of payment in your wallet. If so, go into your account and remove it
2) When you are in checkout, uncheck the box that says Remember Paypal as a payment option.

I knew the $1250 was an individual purchase limit, but for some reason I was thinking $5000 was a single user's limit of combined purchases. But I realized later, there was no individual user's limit across multiple transactions, as I posted in a follow-up.

seems pretty clear to me that you can only get 20% back on up to $1250 per account. They're saying here that you can reach that limit in 1 transaction, or across many. But clearly the limit is $1250 per Eligible Participant.
People need to realize ChatGPT is very, very flawed. It is often very confidently wrong.
do we just have to use bank account?
