11/26/2025 10:28am PST Update: This is now limited to ONE transaction, with 20% rewards back up to $1,250. Paypal email memo notes that the promotion for spend on multiple transactions prior to the notification will be honored.
Walmart:
1) you have to make sure Paypal is not a saved method of payment in your wallet. If so, go into your account and remove it
2) When you are in checkout, uncheck the box that says Remember Paypal as a payment option.

It's $250 Cashback on $1250 total spend. If you go over $1250, you'll not get the 20% Cashback, but you will get the 5% Cashback (up to $5k I believe it was).
Bottom line is any PayPal account will NOT get more than $250 at the 20% cashback rate. Quote me on this later.
So dont go above $1250 as in most cases you can easily get more than 5% back from any merchant regularly.

I tried that but it was tied to an application. I had to fill out my date of birth, etc.

They immediately sent a message of explanation, "Application is tied to unusual activity."
Yeah, you sent me a security code every time I used the Pay in 4 today. That was the only unusual aspect.
