11/26/2025 10:28am PST Update: This is now limited to ONE transaction, with 20% rewards back up to $1,250. Paypal email memo notes that the promotion for spend on multiple transactions prior to the notification will be honored.
Walmart:
1) you have to make sure Paypal is not a saved method of payment in your wallet. If so, go into your account and remove it
2) When you are in checkout, uncheck the box that says Remember Paypal as a payment option.

They use the same language as well in each section.

To me this is paypal saying you get $250 worth of points for this promo, whether you do it during the 5% or 20% period they don't care.

Second, you can run it through AI all you want. Noone has any idea if Paypal will change the terms and consider your points invalid after $250 total. Seems like this a complete clusterf*ck as far as PayPal is concerned.
This isn't 2005. The customer service reps we talk to don't pass what we say forward. I'd be surprised if they log it. And they definitely have no bearing on what happens in this deal.
We're calling for clarity on an established deal. Stop parroting phrases from 20 years ago.
