Avoid Aliexpress via Paypal. All, yes ALL, transactions are being processed by Paypal as cash advance! Resulting in Credit Card Issuer inflicting a cash advance transaction fee + accrual of daily interest as high as 28% APR! No way to resolve and all three companies (CC, AE & Paypal) will circle jerk the finger pointing of who is responsible with no solution. Reddit is exploding with many customers getting hit with these fees in the tune of 10's and even 100's of dollars. Avoid!!!

Paying the balance early in Pay Monthly won't violate the terms.

Remove your PayPal account from eBay payment first. Now after making a purchase, it will redirect you to PayPal, pick 'pay in 4' from there.

So it won't be refunded back to your credit card that you paid it with but a balance to the PayPal account.
Correct. From what I understand with what i read. Us agreed to like a loan with PayPal which PP pays the retailer with their money and we are kind of like reimbursing PP. Similar yet different if we used PP regularly. We are utilizing PP funds directly with a Pay in 4 whereas if we used PP regular, they act more like a middleman to make the transaction work. So when we do a refund in this case, money is sitting with PP cause its their transaction.

So I just bought a macbook from bestbuy.. I chose paypal checkout and pay later / pay in 4... after I completed all steps in the paypal app, I was referred back to bestbuy, but It just looks like the order has not been placed. I also didnt get any email.

In the paypal app, the first payment is "pending". Is this normal? Will I get a bestbuy confirmation as soon as the payment is not pending anymore?

Apparently people have had issues with pay in 4 and getting the 20 percent back from Paypal for Home Depot purchases. That explains why I don't see the points amount, and pending points disappear when the transaction goes to complete status.

yes, for some reason, chase freedom doesn't work. They don't want you to stack 20% with the 5%
Chase made an announcement in October 2024 that they were no longer allowing Chase CCs to be used for third-party Buy Now, Pay Later installment plans.

I did two Home Depot purchases two days ago, one with pay monthly, one with pay in 4, and both said points pending, while the purchase was pending, and now nothing about points on the website now that they have reached completed status. Never once did it tell me my points amount.
My first purchase on 11/22 showed "14,6xx points pending" and still does. My purchase from 11/25 just shows "Points pending" like yours (with no amount). That second one doesn't instill confidence that I will get those points.

I was checking out and selected the pay in 4 and wanted to add a new credit card. It crapped out and now the pay in 4 option is no longer available. does anyone know if it will come back. the longer term one is available with 19.99 apr. Does that still work for the 20% cash back? but I'd rather not have to use that since it's 19.99% apr

Did you complete the purchase once it brought you back to the Best Buy page? You should get an email confirmation from Best Buy once the order is completed like you would with any order, along with emails from PayPal confirming it and the Pay in 4.

Is that in the app? I see what you see for your second one in the app, but not on the website.

"failed to save offer" This seems like it's targeted at new Paypal Credit users. I'm an existing user, and looks like I'm not eligible.

Would be a real shame if this promo died before BF arrived; that would be pretty lame.
