Avoid Aliexpress via Paypal. All, yes ALL, transactions are being processed by Paypal as cash advance! Resulting in Credit Card Issuer inflicting a cash advance transaction fee + accrual of daily interest as high as 28% APR! No way to resolve and all three companies (CC, AE & Paypal) will circle jerk the finger pointing of who is responsible with no solution. Reddit is exploding with many customers getting hit with these fees in the tune of 10's and even 100's of dollars. Avoid!!!

Paying the balance early in Pay Monthly won't violate the terms.

Remove your PayPal account from eBay payment first. Now after making a purchase, it will redirect you to PayPal, pick 'pay in 4' from there.

So the deal is still available, but once you have made one purchase, that is pretty much it.
Is this deal limited to one order per account?
Or is it limited by some total amount that needs to be reached and you could place many orders?

From reading the email, it seems original terms applied before today so now the terms are limit 1 per account. Does this mean if you used it previously, you still get 1 more to do?
I assume that it's retroactive for today, based on their wording so if you already made at least one person before today, you will only get 5% on today's. But we're talking about PayPal here, so who knows. It's pretty low to tell me that my transactions already completed hours ago are under new terms which they just sent minutes ago.

PayPal is making my ultimate shit list, as if they weren't already in it the last several day for blocking my Pay Later options, only to do this several hours after it appears and after my big purchase.

i used the promo 2 hours before the email today and i already have points pending, but the email indicates it should not qualify....

so do i get those points or not?
If that was your first purchase, definitely. If it was your second purchase, then according to the email ... maybe. Obviously they are having some communication and implementation issues.

Chef's kiss to those of you who went nutty on this one, I sheepishly was aiming to just get the $250 total cash back.
They could cap previous purchases but that might mean a lawsuit/complain mob, so here we are. PP denied me after three transactions and my spending power never returned after two days lol.

Just an important heads-up, as per PayPal terms, you get this discount only ONCE. Your spend can be as big as $1250 but if you made a $10 purchase then you miss out on a bigger discount.

Got the new terms email, so glad I got all my orders in before this happened. Got that 98" tv from Best Buy a few days ago as my last order.

Sounds like you are good if you purchased before today.
I made 2 purchases using this promotion. The initial points for each are pending.

Just got an email that it is ended once you use it once. Glad I bought a fifty dollar gift card first. And not the graphics card I had in my cart doing research. Ugh
Yeah...I had gotten a gift card earlier too, which may or may not have the points reversed. The one dang thing I wanted to get was a Switch 2, which I ordered through Staples 6 days ago, but they canceled the order 30 minutes later. That's still showing as pending in my account, which is annoying. I haven't been able to use the deal since, so I no longer can use this deal for the one thing I wanted to get. Ugh is right.

That would be just my luck considering my Pay Later option disappeared for me days ago and didn't show again until earlier today, and after one $800+ order, I've taken my time thinking about what to order next.

EDIT UPDATE:

I just got the email. They are updating the terms retroactively after I already made purchase today and saying I hit my limit. And only limited to one purchase per customer. So, that means my big purchase today won't be covered at all.

This is the worst news.
I know it says "before today," but it may be the case that anything place before they changed the terms will still be eligible. Hopefully your purchase will still be covered.

Have you made any successful purchase using Pay in 4? If so, it's common for it to disappear for a few hours to a day if nothing serious happened.
I figured out it's because I was using my PayPal business account, and business accounts are not eligible for Pay in 4—only personal accounts.

Many of us had made a purchase before today and made purchases today as well, now we are hearing from PayPal that today follows new terms, which means we had already hit the limit soon as the day started, so our purchases today will be 5% tops, it appears. Thanks PayPal, for letting us know after we already spent over $800 earlier today.
