Avoid Aliexpress via Paypal. All, yes ALL, transactions are being processed by Paypal as cash advance! Resulting in Credit Card Issuer inflicting a cash advance transaction fee + accrual of daily interest as high as 28% APR! No way to resolve and all three companies (CC, AE & Paypal) will circle jerk the finger pointing of who is responsible with no solution. Reddit is exploding with many customers getting hit with these fees in the tune of 10's and even 100's of dollars. Avoid!!!

Paying the balance early in Pay Monthly won't violate the terms.

Remove your PayPal account from eBay payment first. Now after making a purchase, it will redirect you to PayPal, pick 'pay in 4' from there.

PayPal owes you nothing and can take away whatever they want. It's the rules they made and they are the ruler.

PayPal may seem at times like idiots, and they may make missteps, but I'll suggest they are mostly not idiots. They will do what's in PayPal's best interest. Maintaining customer goodwill is important, but it's about numbers and not all customers are going to come out ahead.

You are not special.

Anyone who thinks they can buy something today and get the 20% should do so. If you wanted it anyway, Great! If you purchase something strictly on the potential of the 20% offer, you might be best served if it is a purchase you can cancel if it doesn't work out.

If you open it and it says "saved", you can use it. If it says "completed" you are done. See my very recently posted screenshot.
Since they are still updating the terms (as you said, %5 is gone too after the morning update), they may still be updating the accounts to reflect that (changing saved to completed for accounts that have already used it).

Ive purposely used apple pay these holidays, the supposed benefit of paypal was the protection but i think theyre getting rid of that or its onky 30 days now. Honestly, from what ive read across the internet, i woukdnt be surprised if one of the benefits of this promo for them was the data collection for new users. They really put us through the ringer. The onky other thing they could have done is come to our house and do a dna test. Everything was repetitive too, i dont know, kind of seemed like they didnt want us to use the dealt. Blocked our cards and claimed they were denied, called the bank, nope.when it finally did work on of our accounts, it froze and considered every refresh a time used. Hours of time wasted everyday. Respect to anyone who got in on the deal but the ones going over and using all the points, paypal rewarding them is a slap in the face to me
hmm didn't know they locked down new users like that... I assume that was how they would prevent fraud/abuse if the intention was one transaction. This was smooth for me, I used it 20 times for various things that never get discounted like filters or gift cards.
The "slap in the face" to you would be compounded 100x if they tried to claw this back and their merchants got flooded with returned high dollar merchandise because Paypal goofed. At the end of the day they allocated $15million (1.5 billion points) in cash back so it won't hurt their bottom line all that much in my opinion.

Damn, I got the email also. I was going to make a couple of purchases yesterday which I held off on, now I'm kicking myself.

Can we make a new PayPal account and get this offer? Or was it only for existing customers.
Making a 2nd paypal account will get both accounts banned.

1. Does pay monthly work for this promo? 2. Can I pay off 'pay monthly' early to avoid interest?

I have almost that much as well. Did you have to continuously pay off the plans so that your purchase limit could reset?
Yea that's the strategy

no not in one transaction. i did 20 different ones ranging from $50 - 1000. If only I could have paid off the mortgage with paypal i would have done 100+ more transactions and taken out a loan

Pay in 4 doesn't? Or by credit inquiry, do you mean a hard pull?

Everyone is giving Paypal their social security numbers to be able to do this deal?

you read it wrong previous terms ends today and new term starts tomorrow. Everyone have a chance to make a purchase less than $1250 to get 20% back until Dec 2nd.
I got it, I can see that from the discussions so far.

It was this statement from PP that let me to think otherwise:

"You've reached the limit on this offer given our new terms...."

What kind of person would normally think this somehow means you have one more shot at the promo?

It says the "new terms" so they linked the two promos; a normal person wouldn't necessarily believe the new terms only squashed the old purchases and you now have new purchases under the new terms.

But I have an open mind and I see it both ways which is why I said, maybe I give it another shot to see.

I worried that at first also since I made a big purchase early morning. But you can read it two different ways. And since my points from today didn't disappear, and still show 20%, I'm inclined to believe the way to read it is that the ONE transaction limit that is retroactive to this morning only starts counting those transactions starting this morning, which makes a lot of sense, because there was no limit on the number of transactions yesterday, which they said would be honored under the original terms.
What is your and anyone else's consensus on previous purchases where the total of all purchases using pay in 4 exceeded 1250? Will we get more than 250 cash back based on the previous terms of they are showing as pending or is it too early to tell?

Weird. I got the email that I've used up my offer but I still got the saved offer in my account as you mentioned. So it's been confirmed that people who got that email are still getting the cashback if they got the offer showing up still?

they already had mine for tax purposes... but I can say for sure that Pay in 4 is not a hard inquiry.
