Avoid Aliexpress via Paypal. All, yes ALL, transactions are being processed by Paypal as cash advance! Resulting in Credit Card Issuer inflicting a cash advance transaction fee + accrual of daily interest as high as 28% APR! No way to resolve and all three companies (CC, AE & Paypal) will circle jerk the finger pointing of who is responsible with no solution. Reddit is exploding with many customers getting hit with these fees in the tune of 10's and even 100's of dollars. Avoid!!!

Paying the balance early in Pay Monthly won't violate the terms.

Remove your PayPal account from eBay payment first. Now after making a purchase, it will redirect you to PayPal, pick 'pay in 4' from there.

Since they are still updating the terms (as you said, %5 is gone too after the morning update), they may still be updating the accounts to reflect that (changing saved to completed for accounts that have already used it).
They do that in mass quantity using their software to update the database, not one by one like the old days. There might be a little latency, but I suspect those "completed" indicators were rolled out pretty quickly along with updating their accounts to no longer qualify.

Changing those terms and the wording, required someone to think things threw and understand what the real terms were and get it clarified, so no surprise about an additional update there.

Received an email today from PayPal indicating that this offer is no longer offered to me. Seams the deal is dead, at least for me. My points are still pending.

"Thank you for being a part of our limited-buy now pay later holiday promotion...You've reached the limit on this offer given our new terms... Any eligible PayPal Pay Later transactions made before today will receive the benefit of the original offer terms."

What is your and anyone else's consensus on previous purchases where the total of all purchases using pay in 4 exceeded 1250? Will we get more than 250 cash back based on the previous terms of they are showing as pending or is it too early to tell?
yes, "Any eligible PayPal Pay Later transactions you made before today will receive the benefit of the original offer terms."
the original terms were each and every transaction under $1250 got 20% until they hit the cap of 1.5billion points.

no not in one transaction. i did 20 different ones ranging from $50 - 1000. If only I could have paid off the mortgage with paypal i would have done 100+ more transactions and taken out a loan
yeah so that messed up, knowing there was a finite amount of points, youre going over the limit thinking you can argue semantics. And i hear alot of people found they were capped at $1250 even if they tried. So you might want to check. But Its just not right, the info they collected, making people believe they were offered the promo, ive would like oaypal not knowing everything about me, the credit checks, and theyre really only giving the promotion to a select few, and way over the limit. Its a slap in the face if they reward you, and if they do it kind of looks like this was all intentional

And onky one of the accounts was new,

Weird. I got the email that I've used up my offer but I still got the saved offer in my account as you mentioned. So it's been confirmed that people who got that email are still getting the cashback if they got the offer showing up still?
That just doesn't jive with what I saw. I got the email that I hit the limit, and I saw saved in the offer screen.

So, if you got an email you hit the limit but it still shows saved instead of completed, I trust the offer screen. Since emails can't usually be retracted, I tend to think it got sent out to people it shouldn't have, and the offer screen is correct, because that's the one they are under current control of, not an email they sent out a couple hours ago. But, there's a little risk, so spend wisely if you take the chance. lol

Anyway, we've gone from terms that allow UNLIMITED POINTS and UNLIMITED TRANSACTIONS except the global limit for everyone combined or until after Dec 8th, and now to $1250 SPEND MAX and only ONE total transaction allowed for 20%, and NO 5% at all.

My total spend just happened to be fairly close to that previous PER TRANSACTION limit, just by coincidence. Within a short time, I would have jumped up higher had I not gotten that email that I already hit the limit under the NEW terms.

they already had mine for tax purposes... but I can say for sure that Pay in 4 is not a hard inquiry.
Yup had a soft inquiry for pay in 4 before sh**ty PayPal took it away. Does pay monthly have a similar soft check or hard pull? does anyone know

Not misinformation

Are you one of those people I was talking about that doesn't read? Must be.

I said it's NOT in the TERMS. See that? TERMS, right there:

https://www.paypal.com/us/campaig...ffer-terms 5% is GONE!

And NOW, since I posted a little while ago, they have also removed 5% from the offer screen and updated the wording there to reflect it's for only ONE transaction.

Read.

I worried that at first also since I made a big purchase early morning. But you can read it two different ways. And since my points from today didn't disappear, and still show 20%, I'm inclined to believe the way to read it is that the ONE transaction limit that is retroactive to this morning only starts counting those transactions starting this morning, which makes a lot of sense, because there was no limit on the number of transactions yesterday, which they said would be honored under the original terms.
Pretty sure your ai tools will give you the answer dotard

Well, Ladies and Gentlemen, it was nice while it lasted. What a ride.
Also, apparently per the new T&C, they've upped the total amount available to the promotion from 1.5 billion points, to 2 billion. Won't help me anymore, but plenty for others still.

Hmm, the email said I've used it up, but the rewards page still shows saved not completed. Not sure if I should risk it or not.
I mean you could go through with an order pickup and if you don't see the points being rewarded you can cancel or just do a return.

And onky one of the accounts was new,
there is a cap on Pay in 4, the amount of credit they extend. I hit that and got denied... so i paid some plans off and boom within 10 mins I was good to go. You can argue about intent vs what they actually said in the terms. The terms were clear you can get up to $250 back in any transaction ($1250 purchase price) and when we hit 1.5billion points it goes to 5% cb so first come first serve.

I checked my account and see a ton of the lines
20% cash back on pay later purchases with PayPal through 12/8
Nov 25 5599 points
20% cash back on pay later purchases with PayPal through 12/8
Nov 24 2966 points
etc...
It's a slap in the face if they reward me for... following their terms? okay dude, I understand you are hurt and envious, not sure what to tell you. I've missed tons of deals in the past but never was this salty. Again if they clawed it back they'd be dealing with thousands of returned items and angry merchants which would cost them far more than any cash back they ultimately gave out.
Your info has been breached 100x already from the government hacks, the credit reporting agency hacks, the random collector hacks etc. You gotta lock your stuff down and assume it's already out there... because it is.

Buy it and cancel it if it doesn't work out. You would know about the points in a short amount of time. Easy to cancel

I did the deal twice last week and got the email saying I hit my limit today. My offer was showing saved and not used so I tried it again just now. My purchase is showing 20% points pending, so unless they claw back the points it seems like the offer can be used one more time.
