Avoid Aliexpress via Paypal. All, yes ALL, transactions are being processed by Paypal as cash advance! Resulting in Credit Card Issuer inflicting a cash advance transaction fee + accrual of daily interest as high as 28% APR! No way to resolve and all three companies (CC, AE & Paypal) will circle jerk the finger pointing of who is responsible with no solution. Reddit is exploding with many customers getting hit with these fees in the tune of 10's and even 100's of dollars. Avoid!!!

Paying the balance early in Pay Monthly won't violate the terms.

Remove your PayPal account from eBay payment first. Now after making a purchase, it will redirect you to PayPal, pick 'pay in 4' from there.

This is literally what the original offer said. The offer has been modified since it originally came out to limit it to one purchase, but the original language from a week or so ago was pretty unambiguous that it was a "per purchase" deal. Read the original language, not the new modified one. I, and many other SDers here have the pending points to prove it.
Pending is not the same as posted. PayPal can easily go in and take it out

When do you pay the interest for the pay monthly plan? For instance, if you pay in full before the first payment, do you still pay interest for the whole thing?
The pay in 4 option has no interest attached to it. You just pay 1/4 of the purchase price every two weeks. The Pay monthly one is a bit different. At least the one time I used it, two of the payment terms (4 months and 6 months I think) were interest free, but the longer options (12 months) had an interest rate associated with it, so a lot will depend on what option you picked. If you paid the plan off immediately, I doubt they'd charge you interest for the whole loan period, assuming you had an interest rate attached to it.

So I made another big purchase and the new offer went from saved to completed status after. Pending points showed up an hour later, but unfortunately not the full 20%. Only 1736 points from a $450 purchase which when added to my previous purchases this last week brings my grand total to exactly 25000.

Was hoping the new "offer" would have been separate from the overall $250 cap but I guess not. It just added to my previous points and cut off at 25000. If that makes sense
Interesting. Been looking for a data point like this from someone who used part of it before. I have just enough room left to get what I wanted. I would think if they're limiting it to 1250 total they're less likely to claw it back later.

FWIW, I received the email today and made another purchase just now, and the points do show up as Pending.I had 4 other purchases prior to this one.
It makes me wonder if its now 1 more purchase. A single purchase from the email.

AMEX offer does not stack. I bought a Dell Laptop with the PAYPAL offer, the points are pending, however the AMEX offer was not triggered. The transaction does not mention DELL, it say, PAYPAL BNPL. Does anyone else have luck staking the card offer with the PAYPAL offer?

The PayPal email that came out today saying that you've reached your limit clearly states that your previously earned points during the deal would be honored.

So you already had $250+ in rewards pending from earlier orders and have another $250+ in rewards pending from a new purchase today after receiving the email??

I got an email today from PayPal saying any new purchases using pay in 4 will be under the standard promo. But the 20% is still on their app and shows it expires Dec 2. I haven't hit the $250 in points yet.

Did anyone else get that email?

no it doesn't. it says eligible previously earned points during the deal would be honored. they're not going to lock in all your shenanigans from earlier.

eligible.

"Any eligible PayPal Pay Later transactions you made before today will receive the benefit of the original offer terms.?

I was literally in the process of checking out, made one change to my cart, and the pay in 4 option disappeared. Now there is only the pay monthly with a huge interest charge.

Damnit. Sucks to be minutes away from saving $250 on some things I needed anyways. Why is my timing always ass.

Folks should probably check their Paypal Rewards page [paypal.com] to see what is still active first.

Mine shows....

20% cash back on one Pay Later purchase with PayPal
Limited time. Terms and exclusions apply. Tap for details.
Completed
Congratulations! You did it!

I think this is it; this might be a good indicator. it's simple: if it says completed, you have zero. if not, you have one.

still, I wouldn't give the system overnight to turn your status into completed.

And just as a data point for people: I received the email earlier today saying I hit the limit. Made another purchase just now with pay in 4, and I have no points showing up for the purchase, unlike every other time I got something earlier in the deal. So yeah, if your offer says "Completed, you did it!" on it, it doesn't mean that you get one more purchase, it means it's dead for you.

Ah ok, thanks! If one has already hit $250, it won't trigger this promo I guess even if it shows saved (vs completed) on your account ...
