Avoid Aliexpress via Paypal. All, yes ALL, transactions are being processed by Paypal as cash advance! Resulting in Credit Card Issuer inflicting a cash advance transaction fee + accrual of daily interest as high as 28% APR! No way to resolve and all three companies (CC, AE & Paypal) will circle jerk the finger pointing of who is responsible with no solution. Reddit is exploding with many customers getting hit with these fees in the tune of 10's and even 100's of dollars. Avoid!!!

Paying the balance early in Pay Monthly won't violate the terms.

Remove your PayPal account from eBay payment first. Now after making a purchase, it will redirect you to PayPal, pick 'pay in 4' from there.

Anyone knows what will happen if there is a partial refund for the order? I ordered on 11/25 and the points went pending immediately, but just got a notification that the order total has changed and the refund of the difference would be processed back to the original payment method.

i just had paypal take back points.. made a purchase on dell last week they marked as pending and authorized. They marked as completed yesterday and it has no points. It was only my second purchase. 120$ worth or points just dissapeared

There's a difference between take back and disappear. If you don't see a negative sign, nothing was "taken back."

Paypal says they are going to investigate.
Did you call them asking what happened to your pending points?

What does "authorized" mean? the points were authorized?

the points were marked as completed or your offer was marked as completed?

the points were marked as completed or your offer was marked as completed?
thats a lot of questions.. the dell purchase was made on the 25th and authorized pay in 4 status.. showing pending points and qualifying for 20%
then the pay in 4 was marked as completed today with no points

Did you pay one off in full? Wait a few hours it may show back up
Where is the option in paying off? Are you suggesting it helps get a new offer?

it doesn't work paypal marked it as error when i used it and wont show up again.
ymmv because marketing gimmick. anyway found a delta 3 max 2048 whr about 700 - coupons making it close to 500-600 dollars. would like the 3072 for tax credit but doesn't fit my build.

the delta 2 max seems more expensive for some reason?
fyi delta 3 max is also on ecoflow website for 700 maybe can use paypal 20%.

i'll have to settle with 5% back from my chase freedom for paypal and other locations with their discounts since i cant use the 20% from paypal directly

It will be back in a day, maybe less. Check back later. I think it happens because the system places some type of temporary transaction and it needs to clear before the option shows up again. You can also call PayPal and have them clear it for you.
That's true – I was able to see it earlier today, but now it's gone again.

I got screwed over on this deal. Not PayPal's fault, but first I'll let you know how I got the 20% to appear in my PayPal account.

So when I first saw this posted on SD, I went into my PayPal Rewards section to see if the deal was listed. It was not. Then I figured, maybe if I make the purchase I want, the offer might appear. So I bought an ASUS TUF RTX 5080 video card ($1200) and an ASUS PSU ($120) from Walmart and paid for it with my PayPal account. After that purchase, I went to check my PayPal Rewards page, and sure enough, the 20% cashback offer now appeared. Since it needed to be activated to get the rewards, I went back to my Walmart account, canceled my purchase, activated my PayPal offer, then re-purchased the items I wanted. A few minutes later, I see I have 25,000 points pending in my PayPal Rewards page, which is about $210. Great!

Well, not so great. An hour later, I get an email that my video card purchase was cancelled due to lack of stock. The video card was sold through NewEgg (bastards), and now that video card is being sold by other sellers for about 20% more.

Anyway, even it the video card was being sold by other sellers at the same price, I still can't get the PayPal reward for the video card purchase, because the PSU I ordered in that same purchase might not get canceled, and if it doesn't get canceled that will count as the single purchase. PayPal will only honor one single purchase for this particular reward, from what I've read.

There's still several days left to use this reward, so maybe the rest of my order will cancel, and I'll see if I can purchase that video card elsewhere.

In theory, yes, the transaction shows points pending in my Paypal account and the offer now shows completed (this is with a $500 amex gift card).

But walmart flagged my account (I had previously ordered $750 in tires) and cancelled the order. So now I'm stuck in limbo. Most likely I won't be able to do it again since the "pending" charge is still in paypal and the offer is used.

I did talk to paypal support and they said call them back in 24 hours (it's already been 48) as when the "pending" has cleared they may have some options. But the pending probably won't clear until after the promotion ends.

I'm happy with the $150 back on the first purchase, if I can manage to do another, will just be a bonus.

From what I've experienced, even if you cancel the entire order and it clears out of paypal, the offer will still say it was used and you can't use it again. But never know.

You will definitely need to get the whole order to cancel though to have any hope. That PSU will count as your one use. Of course if you do cancel it, and you can't use it again, you've lost the $24 reward on that item.
