Walmart:
1) you have to make sure Paypal is not a saved method of payment in your wallet. If so, go into your account and remove it
2) When you are in checkout, uncheck the box that says Remember Paypal as a payment option.

I have checked your account and see that there is a purchase with Walmart.com for $XXX.xx USD using Pay in 4 and it is completed. Please be assured you are eligible for offer and you will get the points for it. Also, I would suggest you to not make the complete payment at this moment to avoid any issue with the offer. You can make the complete payment after 14 days. |

Has anyone confirmed this and got the full points pending with a single purchase over $1250? I have a cart for 1254 with no way to drop it to over 1k but under the 1250.
I dipped my toes with the dumb HP laptop with the pay in 4, which they cancelled and refunded, which points are still showing as pending after a couple days. Then I got a 500$ desk from Arozzi yesterday and nothing showed pending, despite pay in 4. Then I saw I still had the promotion and grabbed a Vinyl and it instantly showed from premiere collectables. Monitoring the pending points through the activity page.
Hopefully this mess will sort out. I've done the points deals before and had to them to manually send them over after a week of emails back and forth for a 15% back Western Digital reward. They need a better system for this stuff.
I was pre-approved and went through the entire checkout procedure on Sunday 4 or 5 times because I kept getting denied and I kept getting denied because my credit cards weren't good anymore. They weren't EXPIRED (dates were next year) but new cards had been sent and thus the stored cards @ Paypal were no longer valid and thus my orders kept getting denied. Pay in 4 then totally disappeared @ checkout @ Home Depot. The AI telephone crap was WORTHLESS (never could talk to someone) so got on chat and the CSR said too many attempts were made and to give it a couple of days and it would show back up.
It showed back Monday afternoon so placed the orders @ HD and were delivered yesterday with full points pending.
Now it's 3 days later and both options are still missing. To add, the price of the item I wanted also went up while waiting for these options to appear again.
Even if they show up again, I don't think I'm going to use it. I'm pretty sure Paypal will troll everyone in a few months with "sorry, points budget had already expired for your purchase" notices.
I called Paypal CSR. They said there is nothing wrong with my account.
I still do not see Pay in 4 option in Home Depot.
Paypal was janky, and still is janky.

After a few more people who bought gift cards get their points, I'm going to declare the stored valued cards don't actually automatically mean "gift cards" to the people over at Paypal and if they really means "gift card" then next time they'll say it instead of coming up with some fancy cryptic term for it that no one else every uses or necessarily understands.
BTW, the "/s" in my previous post denotes the sarcasm.
It was nice however using the $250 to make the last pay in 4 payment for the item I bought.
Why would the process look for something like that when your purchase can be mixed with various products in the checkout?
