Avoid Aliexpress via Paypal. All, yes ALL, transactions are being processed by Paypal as cash advance! Resulting in Credit Card Issuer inflicting a cash advance transaction fee + accrual of daily interest as high as 28% APR! No way to resolve and all three companies (CC, AE & Paypal) will circle jerk the finger pointing of who is responsible with no solution. Reddit is exploding with many customers getting hit with these fees in the tune of 10's and even 100's of dollars. Avoid!!!

Paying the balance early in Pay Monthly won't violate the terms.

Remove your PayPal account from eBay payment first. Now after making a purchase, it will redirect you to PayPal, pick 'pay in 4' from there.

For those wondering.. points purchasing Amazon Gift cards from Best Buy posted out of pending.
Hmm so PayPal can see what you bought. They can void the points since gift cards don't count

I finally got around to using the offer and my application was denied "unusual activity",

not even going to waste my time contacting PayPal

but after researching, it appears going in and out of checkout (guilty) triggers this, so make sure you have everything correct before going to checkout

hopefully it resets in 24 hours, but I'm not very optimistic

Got the email and have pending points from a couple transactions (one that stacked with the apparel offer, which was a win), but the offer still shows as active in the Rewards section of the site. Is one last bite at the apple possible? Or are they going to have a torrent of consumer complaints from people who didn't read the email and shopped while the offer was still showing as enabling rewards?

I bet Paypal had planned to do this again for Christmas to raise Pay Later awareness and increase loans but I'm sure they have no intentions of ever doing this again. For sure. Lesson learned.

I've been using this on two accounts. On mine and on my wife's account.
On mine I did 3 purchases and all have 20% offer.
On my wife's, same thing. But I'd like to add, last night on the 27th I was checking out and the website glitched twice. I was trying to checkout with the PayPal before creating an account. Anyway, I had two pending transactions and I no longer had the pay in 4 option. I called PayPal and they removed the pending transactions but the pay in 4 was still not available. Tonight, about 24hr later the pay in 4 option appeared again and I was able to use it. 20% points are pending so it worked.
If you are under $1250 and don't see the pay in 4 option and you activated this offer at the start of the promotion, it likely means you made two purchases today. Wait 24 hrs.
just curious, I understand that getting a new pay later loan does not impact credit, but once you have the loans wouldn't these multiple different pay later loans show up on your credit history? New accounts decrease the credit score temporarily.

Got off the phone with customer service, they told me some vendors post points pending immediately show the points and others can take up to 14 days and to only call back after that. I dipped my toes with the dumb HP laptop with the pay in 4, which they cancelled and refunded, which points are still showing as pending after a couple days. Then I got a 500$ desk from Arozzi yesterday and nothing showed pending, despite pay in 4. Then I saw I still had the promotion and grabbed a Vinyl and it instantly showed from premiere collectables. Monitoring the pending points through the activity page.Hopefully this mess will sort out. I've done the points deals before and had to them to manually send them over after a week of emails back and forth for a 15% back Western Digital reward. They need a better system for this stuff.
Same with me, unfortunately I am getting declined for future pay in 4. I do not know what's the limit for it. Any idea if there is a preset limit

I noticed that the offer was still on my account and made a purchase I had always intended to use with the 20% but delayed too long. I immediately got the notification and it shows as pending.

"20% cash back on one Pay Later purchase with PayPal

Nov 29

11220 points"

I already used the offer once on 11/22 before the email came out.

Now pending doesn't mean posted, but going to keep my fingers crossed.

Once you get awarded $250 in points from this promo PayPal is zeroing out any points after that as they come due. They're changing the terms retroactively. So you may want to return items where you don't get the cash back.

No, thr item won't even be delivered until mid December at soonest. Konkr Pocket Fit from Ayaneo. Strange to get the points so soon, because I can use them to pay for the next payment.
Can you let me know what you think of the Konkr? Thought about buying one.

Anyone make multiple purchases in the beginning and then get the "email" and successfully still get points on one more purchase?

No hard pull on credit for my use of PayPal Pay in 4 or Pay Monthly.

My credit report was updated today at Equifax, which is the one I had to unfreeze for PayPal.

I show 2 soft inquiries from PayPal.

I show 0 hard inquiries at all.
