Avoid Aliexpress via Paypal. All, yes ALL, transactions are being processed by Paypal as cash advance! Resulting in Credit Card Issuer inflicting a cash advance transaction fee + accrual of daily interest as high as 28% APR! No way to resolve and all three companies (CC, AE & Paypal) will circle jerk the finger pointing of who is responsible with no solution. Reddit is exploding with many customers getting hit with these fees in the tune of 10's and even 100's of dollars. Avoid!!!

Paying the balance early in Pay Monthly won't violate the terms.

Remove your PayPal account from eBay payment first. Now after making a purchase, it will redirect you to PayPal, pick 'pay in 4' from there.

Have you spent more than $1,250? If so it's totally pointless.

If not, it *might* work. There is no concrete data on whether or not you will get more points but some people are showing pending points from one final purchase made after the terms changed.
I have 550 in pending points so yes much more than 1250... I also found the email saying no more for you.

Well this one is fun. Tried to buy an item on eBay with Pay for 4, kept getting an error when checking out (tried 3x). Now my PayPal account shows two payment authorizations, but eBay doesn't even show me as having checked out yet. This is more headache than its worth...

I've been trying at this for days and keep getting an error on Microsoft's site that they can't seem to fix. I even used my wife's separate Paypal and Microsoft account and she got the same error. It errors out before the Paypal popup even comes up. If it wasn't for a laptop I would have gave up long ago.
I was trying to stack too but i guess not worth it anymore. F Microsoft store. I tried with someone else's phone as well.

Based on all the data points here you are only going to receive $250 of the $550 in pending points that you have. Turns out that based on every single data point that we have so far, chat GPT was wrong and the promotion is and always has maxed out at $250 in rewards, inclusive of all transactions.

I doubt your case is going to be different - most likely you will receive the first $250 and none of the remaining pending points.

If I were you I most definitely wouldn't do another transaction since you're likely to only get less than half of the pending points that you already have.

Got the offer and saved the offer. Tried to use in a Best buy purchase. PayPal denied the payment. Called customer service, system blocked because of unusual activity on my account and no way to override that, in fact I used PayPal to purchase from eBay in early November. Unable to talks to any supervisor. Told me to wait for 24 hours(Stone Age technology). Still the same issue exists, after 24 hours. Now wondering how AI and other systems are implemented in PayPal to identify unusual activity without any manual override to fix that. This shows how systems are developed, implemented without any impact assessment. With this kind of treatment to customers, how these companies will flourish. Reported this in social media... But the deal is already over. Common sense also missing here. PayPal made an offer to customer, and he /she saved the offer(by logging into the account), when customer trying to make use of that offer, PayPal denied payment saying unusual activity. Whoever designed the system in such a way should be fired and customers should be compensated with rain check and PayPal should credit the difference of the item price(BF price vs current) to customers.
Automated system locked me out of all of my Wells Fargo accounts about 2 weeks ago. Three trips to the branch and each time the man in the machine tells the banker to have me return with a different document. I can't access my own money or credit cards and the human being that works at the bank is powerless to help me. All that is to say, I get the frustration with being trapped in the machine.

100% agreed.

Wasted so much time on this deal only to get f|_|cked over by PayPal. Never again. Blacklisted them for life. Going to celebrate the day they go out of business. They're already irrelevant.

You're probably right. Or worse, as per the new terms, they might approve only the first transaction and void every pay-later purchase afterward. No one really knows. The next 90 days will reveal everything…

When paying multiple ebay sellers at checkout does it count as a single Paypal transaction?

I was trying to take advantage of this offer with Paypal. After selecting the pay later option, it's requiring me to add my credit card for autopayment. I tried 3 different cards (VISA, Master, and AMEX), all ended with unable to add card. To add insult to the injury, I got email notifications that card added to Paypal. This is ridiculous! And my transaction with the merchant is hung!

I'll answer my own question: I was able to get a CSR to remove the pending authorizations this morning at 10 AM local time. I checked multiple times throughout the day and the "Pay In 4" option never returned... until just now - just over 11 hours later. I have not used it yet, but it does appear as an option again. So take that as a data point, for whatever it's worth.* Update: I was just able to push my order through, so the offer DOES functionally come back.
How did CSR remove the pending auth? I am not getting any help on this. Any pointers

Received my points. They adjusted $500 worth down to $250, so I'm glad I didn't buy anything unnecessary. All my purchases were prior to the updated terms.

I placed an Apple iphone order but realized it wont get shipped until Dec 5th. The Paypal offer expires Dec 2nd. It means my card wont be charged until then. I guess I need to cancel and re-order. I wonder if this offer will be valid?
Any updates? I'm in a similar boat. I'm hoping the order goes into the "Preparing to Ship" status before 2nd and therefore completes the charge.
