Avoid Aliexpress via Paypal. All, yes ALL, transactions are being processed by Paypal as cash advance! Resulting in Credit Card Issuer inflicting a cash advance transaction fee + accrual of daily interest as high as 28% APR! No way to resolve and all three companies (CC, AE & Paypal) will circle jerk the finger pointing of who is responsible with no solution. Reddit is exploding with many customers getting hit with these fees in the tune of 10's and even 100's of dollars. Avoid!!!

Paying the balance early in Pay Monthly won't violate the terms.

Remove your PayPal account from eBay payment first. Now after making a purchase, it will redirect you to PayPal, pick 'pay in 4' from there.

Does anyone know if the 20% cashback works for options other than Pay in 4? I only have a Pay in 3 option now.

Hopefully other people have better luck than me. When I shopped at Sweetwater, I had the option to pay with PayPal but never got the option to pay later when I was in the PayPal screens. I went ahead and completed the transaction and I've seen no indications that I'll be getting 20% and yes I had activated it some hours before.
You definitely won't get points unless you use Pay Later so the Sweetwater purchase is out.

But if you haven't used the Pay Later anywhere else, the offer can still present itself to you at other places.

If you are acivated for the offer, it will only work under the options in "Pay Later" within the PayPal checkout window. Pay in 4 or Pay Monthly unless something has been changed

I don't see Pay in 4 installments anymore and see Pay as monthly installments. Is this the right option?

Alright, on eBay I see "Pay in 4" listed but it's grayed out and "unavailable", but I also see "pay monthly" and it's selectable...what gives?
Edit: ah, I see monthly is fine too:
"Eligible Purchases are purchases made using either Pay in 4 or Pay Monthly that are completed during the Offer Period by an Eligible Participant who has saved the Offer and has not previously received the benefit of the offer."

I placed an order yesterday with the offer enabled pay in 4. But I still see the offer in my rewards tab. Also, the item is back ordered til Dec 16, and not sure if I will get it since its only a temp charge on the first payment. I'm guessing I'm not going to get the 20%.

I've tried all my Visa, Amex, and debit cards, and all have been declined when trying to check out with Pay in 4. Anyone know how to fix this?

THIS IS STRANGE - I noticed there are two different paypal popups I've seen. One would allow me to complete the pay in 4 without telling me to "add a card". The other wants me to add a card from scratch, even though I have many cards linked. I try to add those cards, it tells me that I can't use that card. The site I want to purchase from (walmart) has the paypal popup that is not working for me.

*** FIX - I tried doing it on my cell phone, and I was able to apply... and then I got "we couldn't approve your application".
Utter nonsense. I have perfect credit and everything.
