Avoid Aliexpress via Paypal. All, yes ALL, transactions are being processed by Paypal as cash advance! Resulting in Credit Card Issuer inflicting a cash advance transaction fee + accrual of daily interest as high as 28% APR! No way to resolve and all three companies (CC, AE & Paypal) will circle jerk the finger pointing of who is responsible with no solution. Reddit is exploding with many customers getting hit with these fees in the tune of 10's and even 100's of dollars. Avoid!!!

Paying the balance early in Pay Monthly won't violate the terms.

Remove your PayPal account from eBay payment first. Now after making a purchase, it will redirect you to PayPal, pick 'pay in 4' from there.

What if we have the same card, and one is an authorized user. My mom and I share about 3 cards together.

I used her Paypal account for a pay-in-4 transaction. The points is pending in her account. But I also see the payment authorization in my Paypal account activity. Wonder if my account still qualifiesConfused

Edit: Chatgpt says since it's the same card, that's why I also see the authorization. But since it's different names on the cards, Paypal allows them on different accounts.

I just a purchase iwith my account, shows pending points.
Do you think ChatGPT has ever had paypal accounts frozen and funds seized?

You can't live your life asking AI everything. If you want to risk it, that's certainly your option, and you may be fine, but those who have used Paypal for a long time know better than to share ANYTHING between accounts, especially when taking advantage of offers/deals like this.

Don't bother if you have a business account. PayPal blocks business accounts from using Pay in 4 (99% of the time). I've wasted so much time trying... and now, despite saving the offer, it's gone. Was going to get a camera for my daughter, would have saved a lot of money. Frown
"Thank you for your quick response, PayPal Pay in 4 (a buyer-side installment option) is typically unavailable on business accounts if you've received Goods/Services payments in the last 12 months, as it's restricted to personal/consumer accounts to manage risk.

Why it's not showing and business account impact
  • Business accounts often lose Pay in 4 eligibility after processing sales, even if the purchase qualifies by amount/vendor; PayPal prioritizes it for personal use.
  • Other factors: Account history, location (limited countries), or temporary risk flags can hide it regardless.
What you can do
  • Create a personal PayPal account for purchases (create one if needed, link the same bank/card)—Pay in 4 works there if eligible.
  • Contact PayPal support via Help → Message Us to confirm eligibility or request review (mention no recent sales if applicable).
  • Use alternatives like Pay Monthly (if shown) or merchant BNPL options (e.g., Affirm, Klarna) if available at checkout"
Note: I didn't even have any sales in the last 12 months.
This hocus pocus, maybe you won't qualify but we won't tell you why garbage is ridiculous! Frown

I just purchased a fridge about 15 minutes ago, and I got an email confirmation stating:

PayPal Rewards
We applied 1 offer to this purchase. See terms

But I don't see the pending points (or the offer) in my account yet. I hope this works.

I placed an order with BNPL but the merchant or whatever hasn't charged me yet. The plan says pending and says it hasn't started. Will I still get the 20 percent back when it eventually goes through since I made this purchase before the offer ended?

none of my poending points have been removed after cancelling 2 orders. they did give me the $250 though for purchases afterwards
Just to clarify when you say "afterwards" do you mean they eventually gave you the points anyway even though those orders were cancelled OR "afterwards" as in you made purchases after those cancelled orders which received the $250. Hoping it's the former but not sure. Thank you!

I pulled the trigger. Bought $1,250 in Disney Gift Cards at a CB Site. Disneyland's CA Resident deal starts tomorrow at $249 ea for a 3 day park hopper and we're a family of 4. Now we have some extra $$ to spend in park plus $70 in CB for purchasing it. Paypal points immediately showed up ss pending. Overall, great deal since we're planning on going to Disney anyway.

It doesn't expire until 12a PT, so even if it disappeared it should still work. The offer disappeared for me a couple hours ago. I just bought $1300 in GCs from a cb site (~9:30p PT) and my pp account is showing 25k points pending.
hey buddy, which is the cb site for gift cards?
