Avoid Aliexpress via Paypal. All, yes ALL, transactions are being processed by Paypal as cash advance! Resulting in Credit Card Issuer inflicting a cash advance transaction fee + accrual of daily interest as high as 28% APR! No way to resolve and all three companies (CC, AE & Paypal) will circle jerk the finger pointing of who is responsible with no solution. Reddit is exploding with many customers getting hit with these fees in the tune of 10's and even 100's of dollars. Avoid!!!

Paying the balance early in Pay Monthly won't violate the terms.

Remove your PayPal account from eBay payment first. Now after making a purchase, it will redirect you to PayPal, pick 'pay in 4' from there.

Took a gamble on buying all Amazon gift cards.

Finally received all my points a total of 50K points which will then be put back into my PayPal accounts to finish off paying the remaining payments.

Thanks OP!
I'm guessing you did it across two accounts not just one? You do say "PayPal accounts" but just wondering.

It says in the terms promotion will end on the 2nd instead if the max rewards are reached, basically people were abusing it early when there was no limit, they ran out of funds
no, that's not what it said. it said the 20% deal ends the 2nd OR changes to 5% through Dec. 31 UNTIL the max points are reached. It was supposed to continue the rest of the month at a reduced rate, even after the change in terms.

the 20% deal changed from Dec. 8 to Dec. 2 cutoff though, but it was supposed to remain available at 5% through the end of the year.

Is there a possibility that the points you received were due to the Nov 23 purchase (even though as you said they showed on the Nov 21 purchases)? In other words I wonder if the only reason the points didn't "fall off" was because you had the Nov 23 purchase that kept the points afloat. But if that later purchase was for a smaller amount or for less than what became redeemable then that's pretty good news.
The points that became redeemable today match the amounts for the two Nov 21 orders (one of which was the one I returned/refunded). The Nov 23 points are still pending when I view the activity in Paypal. This is probably unintentional on Paypal's part but the system is still letting it go through so hopefully others will be as lucky.

Just want to add as a data point incase if it hasn't been mentioned.

I received points for a purchase that I made 15 mins before the email was sent out changing the terms.

Really annoying: after I saved the offer last week it had disappeared in my PayPal account, so I figured they terminated it. I then did all of my BF shopping. Last night I casually checked my PayPal account again and the offer reappeared with a 5 hour countdown until expiration. Since I already made all of my purchases and those deals were no longer available, I just used it on a $100 gift card. But I could've saved $90 on the laptop I bought!

Anyone get points and then returned the item? I got $6 from a purchase that was already returned, it went to my account and I deposited to my bank.

Wondering how this plays out when something goes on sale and I rebuy.

Does anyone know if we are getting points for 2nd and 3rd transactions if we still haven't maxed the $1250 limit? I show points pending for my first $600 order but thinking whether to place a 2nd or 3rd order to max out the $1250 limit. Thanks for your help.
I made 6 transactions. All still showing pending. I think they will all get through. Just be patient and wait. I will provide update of course.

Is the 20% back in paypal rewards points calculated from the total with tax or the pretax total?

Anyone plan to argue with PayPal about capped it at 25k points through different transactions? I think this is borderline scam.

For those who have the points confirmed, how long did it take from the first installment being charged to the points available for redemption?

my "extra" points still show pending - so I'm patiently waiting. Considering the email they sent - I expected them to pay it out.

Same. But this is Paypal, I wouldn't be surprised if they screw us out of the extra points for purchases we legitimately did before they sent out that "clarifying" letter that promised the extra points would be honored.
