For $400, this is actually a great Chromebook alternative. It has great battery life. Yeah it's not full windows, but it's better than chrome os.

ARM is fine. I used it for a year, no problems. My wife used it for 2 years and is still using it. Neither of us ran into a compatibility issue, and I tried to find issues.
That said, I wouldn't recommend anything below the x elite. Even tho there were no compatibility issues for me, the x ultra did have some slowdowns. Not deal breakers but not something that'll make you love ARM either. With the X Elite, it's substantially different ime.

I been using a Snapdragon X for work. For general users it will work. As much as I am not a fan of onedrive... people should use it. Or maybe a google drive. Beyond that it works generally the same. Also, it may not work with Putty or Azure Backup but beyond that I haven't had any issue with it. I wouldn't recommend it in a business environment but for home use its fine. And the only determine factor should be price. if this one has OLED then I am there. Not sure if this one has it.

FWIW Snapdragon does not currently work well with Linux. Support will likely get better over time, but for now if Linux is one of your use cases you may want to consider traditional processors.

Thanks, you answered my question before I had the chance to ask! I looked into this a year ago, but haven't kept up with Snapdragon progress on linux.

I have lost hope for first gen SX chips, but hopefully now that Arm PC developers are starting to ship devices with standard UEFI, the next generation will be more capable.

Limitations of running Windows: you can't install Linux instead (you can run it through WSL, Hyper-V or VirtualBox). What a dumb article.

Hasleo Backup Suite is ARM64 native, free and works great for cloning/backups and creating bootable USB recovery media.

Using any ultrabook for AAA gaming is stupid, gaming laptops generate heat are heavy and have crap battery life because they sacrifice one or all those things to achieve "ok" gaming performance.

I like how he complains about Linux support while still ignoring Linux is a non starter for a bunch of popular games like Fortnite and Battlefield 6.

Most of these tech authors are complete idiots.

This is absolutely full windows. Some programs won't run properly, but to call it anything else is completely incorrect.
