Doesn't reach the bottom and sides of mixing bowl so it gets uneven mix and scraping is required
Wobbles / Burning smell if used with thick and heavy doughs
For the price, it seems ok but compromises on quality which is expected.
It's a good question, because my wife's KitchenAid just kicked the bucket after only 5 years
So, repair service is available. But 9 times out of 10, The plastic gear is what went, and you can fix that yourself fairly easily. Personally, I would not buy a KitchenAid mixer today. Breville, Ankarsrum, Cuisinart are legitimate competitors. Or, simply buy one of these cheap ones.
