I believe the specs listed here should be for this processor: Intel® Core™ Ultra 9 275HX Processor (E-cores up to 4.60 GHz P-cores up to 5.40 GHz)

Does this promo code work on any other configuration?

It's tough getting senior discounts and other promos to stack.

Otherwise, really solid deal.

Another positive with Lenovo is that you can add a 3 year onsite warranty for $99.

Way better than most other companies.

Who wants to have to ship a pc back for service, especially when it's also used for business?

The coupon code didn't stack with my medical personal discount unfortunately.

These Lenovo builds typically use some proprietary parts. If you don't upgrade your PC much this matters very little. If you like to upgrade though it is something to consider.

Lenovo has been pretty bad in recent times about BIOS, software configs and bloatware. Definitely plan to spend some time going through all the BIOS settings and doing your own tuning. At the very least, make sure you are getting the right memory speeds.
On the hardware side, it is almost inexcusable to be using DDR-5600 in a gaming PC in 2025. The cost savings over faster memory is very small and there is a measurable performance impact in some games.

While this would be an excellent price in normal times, I think we will see deals just as good as this one but with a better configuration during this BF season. We are already seeing lots of great PC deals.

Insane memory prices will only push prices up and most big deals will run several weeks in November, not just the weekend of BF or the week.Chances are we've seen prices hit the lowest level generally, with some deals here and there

I think this is the mobile core ultra so it should be soldiered and the RAM should be laptop RAM

Edit: not sure why I'm getting downvoted. Here is the intel official page saying it's a mobile CPU: https://www.intel.com/content/www...tions.html

This means that if the CPU fails or the MB fails out of warranty, it'll be a major pain to replace either part.

1TB drives should be criminal for gaming rigs. At least it has 2.5gb ethernet, all the ones Skytech is offering is gigabit only. Walmart has that CyberpowerPC with similar specs 2TB drive for 1500, though I guess Lenovo might be the better machine build wise.

Just don't. I don't know what penny-pinching corporate hack came up with the scheme of soldering a mobile processor to a desktop motherboard, but Lenovo is trying to take advantage of you. First, you should know that this is a mobile/laptop processor (something Lenovo fails to mention). Second, the processor, while very capable now, is soldered to the motherboard, leaving zero upgrade path. But Lenovo won't tell you that unless you specifically ask, like I did. Third, you can build this with a real processor for the same, so it's not a "deal." Maybe that's still okay for your needs, but by buying this setup, or any other like it, you're encouraging Lenovo to continue fleecing the customer and take advantage of those who don't know better. If even just a few people do it, you can bet other companies will follow suit. Soon, we'll be paying premiums for non-mobile, non-soldered CPU's, just like we are for what should be standard memory with Nvidia. Send the C-suite a message that you won't be taken for a fool. Don't let this become the new "standard."

God I hate the modern PC marketplace, what a nightmare to navigate if you aren't hyper focused on every press release. That being said, this thing did just get more interesting to me considering how jank the drivers and support have been on the aliexpress motherboards like this

What are you talking about ? It IS Black Friday season. We are 10 days from the actual Black Friday RAM. Isn't going to be your biggest bottleneck for most use cases

The processor hasn't been the bottleneck for a couple years It's the GPU the trend is to use mobile processors to lower power usage and heat Then use a better GPU.

Why mobile chip same price when you can get desktop chip would aim for 7800x3d at least for this price.
