Time to buy fire sticks has come and gone. Vega OS means that apps had to be rebuilt. With that in mind some developers are finding it not worth the effort since at this point a verry small subset of "smart" devices are "select" (Linux based). Amerzon is under fire because of the popular fire-os is the most popular for the pirates, but they killed the sticks off by removing apps they deem as suspicious. No side loading on "select" and limited app development makes it a hard no.

Amerzon should be careful. The "select" is probably on sale because people select to skip it and just go to Walmart's streamers.. Amerzon could find they made a huge mistake if folks reject this product. I reject it completely.

As far as I know there still working since none my family members has called me to fix anything yet 🤣.. 4k max was the last one I ever setup .

But I highly recommend just getting the onn box from Walmart , most especially if you like Kodi , real debried , stremio and IPTV type stuff . It's going to be your best low budget option.

I got one of these and am very seriously considering returning it. For the latest version it has no performance improvements and is actually slower than my gen 1 I was trying to replace. One other thing they are not clear about is that this is a whole new device with a slower SoC that is no longer Android based. This is a very gutted version of Linux called Linos which is a stripped down Linux distribution that is used in devices not needing performance like e-readers. I love Linux but this isn't doing so hot. Plus apparently the apps are not compatible so I've come across several already that I subscribe to and do not work on this new stick as the service needs to create a port that runs on this OS. All that said, it's cheap. So it may work for you, but buyer beware it's not an improvement over previous models and comes with a new set of potential issues.

Perfect. I've had a very old fire stick that's probably 10 years. It works very slow. I'm happy to upgrade for this price..
You just can't buy three of them at one time. When they are at regular price. Grateful for the Black Friday deal
