Waiting for this to go lower as this has been the price at partner store for quite a while now. Hopefully something comes up during Black Friday or there are coupons that give further discounts.

I believe the price for this monitor has not dropped as much as it should have given there is no competition at all. No other manufacturer is offering a 5k2k OLED that is geared towards gaming. LG is aware of this. Therefore, as other competitors enter this market and LG also brings in other sizes - we will see a price drop.
For now - I am personally looking at around $1100-$1200 pre tax before I take the plunge. I am also looking at open box deals or marketplace if something comes up.

I got mine $1241.89(tax included) from bestbuy in last week. It is bestbuy open box item (excellent condition). To me, it seems like a brand new. All internal OEM tapes are still at their original positions. came with 2 year LG warranty
