Short answer is that this product line ("Neo") is supposed to be backlit. In other words, you're not getting what you might think you're paying for. Backlit mini led has substantially better black levels and is what most people are expecting in the "Neo" line.

I ordered it. Don't want to spend OLED type money like my LG OLED 65 that costed me $2700 in 2019 and only lasted 5 years before I started getting the black screen of death.

I have chatted with Samsung twice regarding this television in the past. Both reps stated that this model had direct backlighting and was not edgelit. A reddit user who has this and the QN70F in their possession at the same time stated that this had significantly better picture quality. So I'm guessing this may be meant to fall in between the QN80F and the QN90F.
