Before you buy look up how much CR123 batteries cost. You need 2x and they only last 2 months in my experience. I swapped out for a Level lock this year because of the August lock's insane maintenance costs. The older models with a wifi bridge have much better life.

This company and products are crap. Don't believe the hype. I have it and it works depending on the weather I guess. The Bluetooth stopped working completely, in the garbage went.

Still have this on one door, but replaced most them with other alternatives that are much more consistent. I used to love these, since they were one of the earliest to market with a good app interface, but they have endless pairing issues with keypads and often disconnect from Wi-Fi and even Bluetooth. The alternatives from Switchbot (which also allows you keep your key like August) and Tapo are leaps and bounds better with no connectivity issues. This is a great price, but hard to recommend in the long run.

I have the wi-fi smart lock for my apartment here in LA - have the basic number pad I use to unlock/lock it. Went with it cause it doesn't change the outside part of the lock at all so my landlord didn't care (still the same key). Biggest annoyance is an uncommon battery size and I've had to replace the batteries twice in the last year or so already.

It should. All you have to do it put it on your existing lock or deadbolt. This is a great lock with great range.

I've never had an issue with them in the last year on my smart lock other than eating batteries fast.

On my garage entrance, I replace batteries monthly with the lock reporting excellent wifi

This! So expensive. The other locks use AA and replacement is a little less often.

What I found out is the lock runs on both wifi and BLE. Wifi runs through the battery in around a month, but if you get their wifi bluetooth adapter, I've been able to get around 6 months on my batteries using that. It makes it so that the lock communicates through low power bluetooth and the wifi adapter takes the power for the wifi.

The others that use AAA are because they require a hub close by and use Bluetooth to connect. This is wi-fi. The batteries are like $2/each on amazon, and I agree you need new ones every 2 months (for our front door used by a family of 5 and we never use keys) so that is only 12 batteries/year or $2/month

Which lock take CR123? I have the August deadbolt lock. Although it's 4x AA batteries. I have to have an outlet free for the hub so my home can auto open when I arrive. Level I would think has an even less common standard battery. Also it sacrifices the strength of a deadbolt with the battery compartment embedded in it.

I have one that required the Connect bridge and the bridge is very spotty and is currently not functioning so the lock only works via Bluetooth if you are right in front of it vs. wifi, where I could control from anywhere. Support was not helpful.

The Wi-Fi lock (the first three links in OP) takes CR123. As I said, the older models with a wifi bridge (and the Approach in OP) last much longer (and take AAs like you said).

I'm not too concerned about deadbolt strength as locks as a whole only serve to keep honest people honest. If someone is gonna break in they'll come in through a basement window or something.
