Also fairly sure the OEM maybe vacmaster, but I don't have any proof other than some VM products are very similar and have almost identical part numbering.

Its thin tin/aluminum-walled and plastic on top and bottom. I use it specifically because it is so light and versatile. Maybe we're using different products?
But also consider the 10 gallon plastic weighs the same as this 6 gallon steel.
