This Hart 6 gallon stainless steel wet dry vac is best as a compact, budget shop vac for garage, basement, and car cleanup. The suction gets praised for dust, concrete bits, sawdust, drywall chunks, and even flood water, and the wheels make it easy to move around. It also works well with the car cleaning kit and can handle light indoor dusting with the right bag and filter. The main drawbacks are the short cord, narrow hose, and some reports of thin metal, fragile plastic tabs, or early motor failure. A practical pick if you want a small, versatile vac without stepping up to a full size unit.

you have the 6 gal one? debating if I want this one or the 8 gal one. 8 gal one is 11.5 amp vs this one is 8 amps. 8 gal would be even more powerful
8gal has a pleated filter like a shop vac

I bought one two days ago for $40. I called 1800walmart and directed the AI prompt to allow me speak to a representative. That representative refunded the difference back to my PayPal account. 👍

They won't offer me a promo credit or adjustment. Told me to send it back and reorder. Whatever, it's on their expense.

How is it working for you? Is it worth the $30?
Its worth 30 definitely, its smaller and the hose is kind of stiff and narrow, its not the heavy duty suck up massive debris type of vac, the hose is narrow enough I think leaves would jam it up, but its good enough for 30 bucks. I use mine to empty pooled rain water from time to time to prevent mosquito breeding grounds.

My 15yr old shop vac is making some weird noises and has a slight burning smell as if the motor is going... will give this little guy a shot for $30 - hopefully I can modify my extra length hose to fit this - maybe some duck tape?
Duck (duct) tape fixes everything. 😆

What are you using these for?

I've had the 8 gallon version of this for years now. Been perfectly fine for intermittent garage use.

It is heavy, so don't buy it expecting to take it anywhere.

Also fairly sure the OEM maybe vacmaster, but I don't have any proof other than some VM products are very similar and have almost identical part numbering.

heavy??

Its thin tin/aluminum-walled and plastic on top and bottom. I use it specifically because it is so light and versatile. Maybe we're using different products?

We are in fact using two different products.

But also consider the 10 gallon plastic weighs the same as this 6 gallon steel.
