Thanks op! Just placed an order through Uber Eats (with 100-20 promo) and discounted GC, along with Uber One member discount (5% off, didn't cover tax but it's better than nothing), with $10 tip and extra 3.99 for priority delivery.
Did you use the GCs for the entire purchase? I heard that if you load GCs beyond a certain amount (probably around $1000), Uber seems to restrict those accounts. TIA

I saw the option to pay in 4 and clicked apply and it just went to a white screen and never did anything. When I go back out the offer is not there now. Any ideas? We have excellent credit (over 800O) so I don't think it is something to do with that.

Man, this is such a good deal with the PayPal cash back. Was very stoked to find that the 20% was on the full after tax purchase price.

How is portability of 15 inch air? I am using m1 13 inch air and debating should I go for 15 inch air or stay with 13 inch air
That's what I'm wondering as well. Debating between a 15 inch MBA or 14 inch MBP, which both weigh about the same. I've always gotten 15" laptops (was a windows guy for many years) so I'm used to the size. People say the screen on the MBP is way better but honestly don't know if I'll care enough for it. Also debating if I should shell out $200 for 8 more GB of RAM. Quite a ripoff IMO but I would rather be future proofed now than get stuck upgrading earlier. I used to be a software dev but haven't done that in a while as a manager, but I might dabble again now that all these AI assistants/tools are available.

Really the big things will be ports, do you care about having a 3rd thunderbolt/usb port, hdmi, sd card? Also the brightness of the screen, and if you run things that will use sustained cpu active cooling is nice. But there isnt as much difference as say the M1 Airs where you could only have one real external display.

I'm using a m1 8 gig I bought back in 2020. I occasionally get the low memory popup. I know people get 24 gig for longevity, but if im only going to use for around 5 years, would 16 be enough for me? Tx.

I have a work issued 14" MBP, which was my choice. The screen and speakers are top notch but I have a 13" MBA M4 at home and still prefer it but I've always had Airs. I've started ordering Airs now for people who need new computers at work and they're FAST. I order the 24GB/512GB config. It's the same one I ordered for my gf which is arriving tomorrow.

If you combine it with the PayPal 20% off offer, I say go for the 24GB if you plan to keep it for a while. I was cheap and went with 16GB but I really don't do much, not like when I'm at work anyway. The 24GB definitely gives you extra headroom now and in the future.

Thanks for the insight. I'm already maxing out the CB at 16/512 so I'm kinda hesitant to blow $200 more for a measly 8GB of RAM, especially if swap works for those fringe cases when I need more memory. Also at that price point we're almost getting into MBP territory. See an open box excellent condition for $1510 but unfortunately the 20% doesn't work on it.

Oh yeah, if you're looking at the 15" you'll reach the cap for the PayPal offer.. didn't think about that. I know it seems like highway robbery (I upgraded my ThinkPad T14g2 to 32GB for very little) but I've always been happy with our MacBooks. I'm content with 16GB but like I said, I don't do much on my computer at home.

I never got a memory warning on my 8GB M1 or M2, but if you are.. I feel like 16GB may not last you 5+ years on a new MacBook.

I get it when I run IntelliJ and had several different projects open at the same time. It never happenes when I'm running visual studio code with several different projects open at the same time. Is it a problem w/ IntelliJ?

Also, I think it happened when I had dozens of chrome tab opened.

Does anyone know if I can use the PayPal payment in 4 at the local Best Buy store. The reason I'm asking is because I have a trade in. TIA!

I would say don't do it because trade in would lower down your cost and so would 20% cashback. if you can just trade in separately for future use, or check other third party who provide cash for trade in then go with that.
