How do these compare with govee permanent outdoor pro? Anyone experieced with these ?
Govee has a bit higher light density at least the outdoor 2 lights at 0.72/ft vs these at 0.6/ft but the govee is 3x the cost when not on sale. Funny enough the more expensive govee pro set has the same density. The nanoleaf seems to have a 50lm brightness vs govee light 2 has 40lm although they list that for specifically the white with govee (its probably white for both max brightness). I would be most concerned by the app for control when it comes to these things. I have no idea about the nanoleaf app but the govee one is ok.
They seem fairly comparable to the govee lights at a way lower price.
How does one cut these things to the proper length and run power to new runs on separate rooflines?
The Govee kit includes some spacing lines where there's no lights and you can connect to the next section. I watched a YouTube video that shows you can splice in 18 gauge wire as well (this video was specific to the Govee 2, I would assume it's similar for all of these kits)
I read that you cant individually change each led. Going back a year I see Nano leaf says that its coming but it looks like that option is not available. So you can choose which color each led is. You cant turn off a couple lights and only leave a few on for non holidays. With the amount of work it takes to hang these on a 2 story house...

You can control each individual LED

After doing some research, these appear to have solid performance. Less privacy issues as these allow local control. (Govee run on cloud based in China). Doesnt need separate hub like Philip if you own a major one already. In for 3!
I have both Govee and nanoleaf systems. I'd say nanoleaf is far better quality with more community support within the app. You can easily and quickly download someone else's created light designs. I also like that it's HomeKit compatible.
Nanoleaf is typically much more expensive, but with this discount I'd say it's a very good deal.

Govee 🏆 Gold Standard Extremely reliable app; Massive library of user-created effects; Excellent warm white tones. Adhesive can fail on soffits (clips recommended); "Pro" version is expensive.
Eufy 🛡️ Security Choice Integration with security cameras (lights flash on detection); Easy installation. Colors described as "dull" vs Govee; Reports of water ingress in bulbs; 1-year warranty concerns.
Nanoleaf ⚠️ High Friction Native Matter support; Great integration for Apple HomeKit heavy users. App is widely criticized as buggy/slow; Cannot control individual pucks easily; Firmware instability.
Detailed Feature Breakdown
Govee Pro: The Enthusiast's Choice
Why it wins: Dedicated Warm & Cool White LEDs allow for classy architectural lighting that doesn't look like "Christmas lights" in July.
Installation: The only kit in this list designed to be cut and spliced natively. It includes watertight connectors to jump gaps (e.g., dormers or peaks).
Ecosystem: The Govee app allows you to download thousands of user-made scenes (e.g., "Candy Cane," "Thunderstorm," "Super Bowl Team Colors").
Eufy E22: The Guardian
Killer Feature: WonderLink: If a Eufy camera spots a stranger, the lights can automatically turn red or bright white to deter them.
White Balance: Uses a triple-LED design to mix whites, which some users find less accurate than Govee's dedicated white diodes.
Nanoleaf Matter: The Future Proof
Matter Support: Integrates directly into Apple Home, Google Home, and Alexa without needing a manufacturer-specific cloud bridge.
Warning: Users report significant issues with the Nanoleaf app crashing and failing to update firmware. It is best used strictly via HomeKit/Matter.
Nanoleaf app has 1 star reviews on 40 of last 50 reviews.
I bought 2 100' sets and found out that you can't connect more than 150' in one setup. Need 2 separate power sources. The app has tons of community preset light patterns but it's a pain to navigate and I've yet to figure out how to set a schedule for these lights. I tried to create an "event" and it's not working. I'm probably going to link it to Alexa. Lastly, App could only be used when your device is inside your home. No remote access because it needs Bluetooth access despite it being connected to your home WiFi.

Nanoleaf was founded in 2012 by engineers from the University of Toronto and now has offices around the world, including Toronto, Shenzhen, and Paris.
This product also supports the Matter smart home standard, which helps it work across different smart home systems.
