Jokes aside, the black version is usually higher because it's the only color that matches most doors.

I stated $8.99 not much of a deal since there are quite a few different sellers selling same thing for around this pricing so $8.99 is nothing special (not a sales price). $6.99 significantly better in that regard
Personally I dislike blink and ring due to fact that they require subscription for full functionality. I currently am using Eufy
