This bundle is mainly a cheap way to extend Microsoft 365, with NordVPN as a bonus. The Microsoft side gives Office apps, 1TB of OneDrive, and easy photo backup, and the code can stack on existing subscriptions. Redeeming a Personal code on Family often converts to 9 months, though some accounts hit conversion errors or support roadblocks, especially after certain retail extensions. Stacking is capped at 5 years, so it works best for accounts that can accept the conversion.
OneDrive photo backup can work seamlessly with Microsoft 365 Personal, making the cloud storage portion practical.
NordVPN can function as a bonus while the Microsoft 365 time effectively extends an existing Family subscription.
Microsoft subscription codes reportedly do not expire, so adding a 12-month Personal code can extend an existing Personal term.
NordVPN codes entered on a Microsoft 365 Family account should prompt for the correct conversion instead of switching to Personal.
Redeeming a Personal code into an existing Family subscription can prorate to 9 months instead of the full 12 months.
Microsoft support reportedly may refuse converting a Personal code into prorated Family months when the Family was extended using certain retail prepaid codes.
Using a Personal code on a Family account can fail with an error requiring waiting until the current Family subscription ends.
Stacking Microsoft 365 subscription codes reportedly has a 5-year limit, which caps how far multiple codes can extend coverage.

Only office writer looks exactly like Microsoft Word and did a better job rendering documents then Libre. Librehas a more cluttered interface but more features than only office.
It's leave me more than comfortable not subscribing for now to Microsoft. As long as your important documents can be sent as PDFs or your shared documents are basic it's fine.
This could be an option for many home users that just need basic capabilities and don't need the online storage.
ETA: Word/Excel/Powerpoint are free for online use

It offered to give me a free extra month for enabling recurring billing but it kept failing when I attempted to do so. It worked if I skipped that.
Previously when redeeming these offers I was able to claim that free month (and then immediately turned off recurring billing).

Heads up that if you do this, it'll give you false hope while redeeming that you'll get the full 12 months (or even 15 months for turning on auto-renew), but then will say "just kidding, here's 9 months" at the very end.
If we see even better deals in the coming week, I'll do it again.
