I have had google TVs in the past, the interface starts to slow dramatically and I had to clear cache each time to get it to work. Anyone know if this actually works correctly?

Completely dependent on the chipset inside them. My QM7 is incredibly snappy, but I know little about this particular model. It's a low-tier model, so I wouldn't have high hopes. I'd try to stretch the budget to at least the QM6K of you're already going to spend this much and get an 85". You're generally better off getting an external streaming stick, anyways. An Onn Google TV box is only a few bucks, and will generally be faster than any integrated smart TV.

My Sony Google TV is snappy 2 years later without ever clearing cache... depends on the TV.

Considering you can get a far superior TV for almost the same price I don't see why anyone would pick this TV. The qm6k, qm7k and qm8k are all right around this price on sale. This is a case where the bigger size doesn't trump how superior those TVs are in 65" or 75".
