If you want to dip your toe into trainer riding this is a no brainer. I bought a tacx wheel on a couple years ago, their low end equivalent to this one, and it is good enough for my casual butt. If you think your going to ride a trainer for 4+ hours every week then yeah get better direct drive one. I can force my self to ride a trainer for maybe 1 to 1 1/2 hour a week during the winter and this style is fine for that. Mywhoosh is free and good enough as well.

I can relate to you saying that you can force yourself to do the trainer for an hour each week. I didnt realize how boring a trainer would be, and I'm glad I didnt spend more. Im hoping thats still enough to start spring next year with a little more fitness

I know they retail for around $250 but I bought one of these during the peak of covid for over $500.

Got a good review from DC Rainmaker… good enough for me.
