You'd have to use a Best Buy gift card to bring your total to a max of $1,500 so you can use the PayPal 4

Why do these higher end laptops always have the Intel chipset instead of AMD?

Annoying there's no USB 4.0 ports.

so comparing this with the other ACER deal with basically same specs EXCEPT the IPS screen. The Non slim version is a 90w power and supposedly pushes 140w to the GPU vs this OLED one that does 115w. Wondering what are redditors thoughts on this. Granted Some prefer the OLED vs IPS .... but Burn ins vs more GPU power. both are same price at 1500 also.
so (IPS Screen 240hz 140w power to GPU) Acer Predator Helios Neo 16 AI PHN16-73-934N vs (OLED 240hz 115w power to GPU) PHN16S-71-98RF

12gb gpu and only 115w I'd pass on this personally, but not a bad deal.

According to the best buy product page, and even the pictures, there is a Thunderbolt 4 port on the back which is basically USB 4.0.

The description should be updated.

"1 x Thunderbolt 4, 1 x HDMI 2.1, Display connection via USB port" via BB specsheet.

Yeah, which is fine for displays if your monitor supports it, but doesn't do much for USB drives that didn't pay Intel's royalty fees. I think I'll wait a week for Black Friday or maybe even Cyber Monday. I don't need a laptop until February.

Got this delivered yesterday. I don't game much but needed something for 3d scanning. Scanner only listed Intel chips as compatible (although assume AMD would have been fine). Recommended specs were RTX 4060 or newer and 64gbs of RAM.

Ran it through Passmark and ended up with 14083 overall (96% percentile), 54713 CPU (99% percentile), 3d Mark 24820 (92% percentile), and Memory 3623 (91% percentile). For reference, I had bought/returned an Alienware 16x with the RTX 5070 and it was 75% overall. In Dell's defense, that may have been low due to their power throttling software not fully disengaged.

Tried it on the 3d scanner software and it worked well. Was debating the Lenovo 7 pro for $900 more that doubles the RAM, moves up to a 5080, and (most importantly) has full power delivery to the graphics card. However, this machine makes it hard to justify jumping up 60% in cost....

How's the battery life on this. Not while gaming, general browsing.
