That's an incredible deal! I just bought it over weekend at Best Buy for $1299. I was hoping for this price drop so they could price match and refund me the difference while it's still within their return or exchange policy.

This is much better for bright rooms. I am contemplating getting one for my covered porch.

I chose miniLED over OLED for this reason. I could finally see a normal TV screen with the curtains open during the day.

I have partner store cash back limited to 7% from capital one but normal lg.com is 30% offer that I got. Plus amex 4%+3% and $200 lg gc for reviewing brings it down to under $1000 including tax. I also got lg coupon for 10% since lg.com would come out cheaper I don't care about partner store garbage soundbar and speaker offer to be honest. My TCL qm6k pro 65" from Costco arriving today for which I paid $426 including tax and 5 year warranty but I am thinking $1000 is crazy for lg oled c5 77
It's really not $1000. It's $1000 with 60 other reward points, reviewing, spinning on your head. Pray all your rewards stack and you get them.

We don't live in 2020 anymore. The newer oleds can achieve higher peak brightness than many mini-led TVs of that time.
Higher end OLEDS yes but the lower end ones like the S84 and B5 are not nearly bright enough for any light going into a room at all

about 97% like an OLED doesn't say it outclasses the OLEDs. I'm not a OLED fanatic or a MiniLED hater and I understand that the OLEDs are not for everyone but let's not pretend that miniLEDs picture quality will outclass OLEDs; it will not. Granted, OLEDs have many flaws that need to be considered before making a decision. If you are a picture quality purists you will know the difference. It is fair to say, for an average person, it may not even be noticeable without a side by side comparison. For the price, size and many use cases, MiniLEDs are great but when the prices are same, I would be hard pressed to recommend a MiniLED over an OLED.
This outclasses the B5 hands down. I had both in my house until recently as I gave my kid the B5. This TV is more comparable to the C5 and I would highly recommend those looking at a B5 go this route.

just put up the 55qm6k pro (which i think has the same screen as this?) in our sunroom and its hella nice not having massive reflection from all the windows. im pretty sure i can adjust it to not be as bright but out the box its awesome! and im finally able to play xbox @120hz with the fancy dolby sound.

Please Google TCL on their warranty service. I'm experiencing the nasty run arounds many people mentioned in their reviews. You seriously don't need to go through this.

Mini-led tvs still are multiple times brighter than even today's OLEDs, it is not even close. HDR content especially will take advantage of the peaks.
They are not multiple times brighter. Quit spreading BS

I still don't understand why these OLED snobs come in here for this. I have a 77 A80J, so I love my OLED, but my mom has a Mini-LED Sony, and I may be able to see a difference, it's not like it's night and day. If we are in a pitch black room watching a movie with lots of dark scenes, then sure, my TV will out perform, but it's not like OLED vs LED Tv's 6+ years ago. This is probably the best Mini-LED TV you can get outside the Bravia 9's insane price tag. Plus you can opt for a 98 inch Qm8K for under 3k. That is insane. I'm very tempted to replace my A80j 77 with the 98 QM8K
I have a 77" A80J myself too! I got it several years ago at this point but I told my buddy, if i were to start over from scratch TODAY, id get the 98 inch QM8K over the OLED.

Yeah, there are many OLEDs at this price point; not sure why anyone would want to buy this when you can get an B5 for $1000, S84F for $900 and a Bravia 8 for $1200.
bright rooms bro. and this is a great tv for it. Love OLED too

Ones like the B5 and lower end OLEDs might be $1000. Honestly this is way better IMO then the LG B5. I had both
That's good to know! I only have a QM7 and it's not OLED quality.

It won't be. People are only kidding themselves when they say it's "OLED" picture quality. No, it's not. There isnt a TV technology today that can get you the infinite contrast and deep blacks of the OLEDs. It may get there in next few years (Micro LEDs maybe) but not right now. There is a reason OLED is the King of TV technology.
