So >= 40 adds the mop water tanks, >= 40 ultra adds stepping up thresholds, everything higher is more suction and and warmer heating of the mop pads?

Any comments on kPa recommended? We have a Dyson v15 which according to google is 10kPa normal and 27kPa boost, the best one here is 30kPa!

In market for one, but we have a sunken family room. Any suggestions? Someone on Amazon replied to my review to build a ramp. Wouldn't that defeat purpose of sunken room? Don't need this to climb down to family room but at least would this detect the drop and not fall in?

Is the ultra the better one for HW and a couple Costco shag rugs?

Just a fair warning, I bought this exact model and it had issues getting up the ramp to dock. Kept getting stuck to the point where I had to return it and go with the Costco iRobot and I haven't looked back.

Have this. Bought last year, after trying out 3 or 4 others, and paid close to $1200. Although it will take years of reliable service to make it worthwhile, it has been a reliable partner so far in light duty daily cleaning tasks

$500 is a fantastic price and a great value.

It does good work vacuuming hard surfaces.

Navigation is perfect and the app lets you subdivide rooms, customize the kind of cleaning to be done and set up scheduling easily.

The self cleaning functions for the mop pads are excellent.

The base unit is all plastic but it feels like it's put together well and it's thoughtfully engineered.

It isn't bad at maintenance mopping dust, food residue and footprints off of tile and solid surface flooring.

It's not great with long dog hair on normal rugs and carpets.

It's not going to clean up a glass of spilt milk.

NONE of these bots are maintenance free. It still requires periodic attention such as water changes for the mops, bag changes for the base and, if you have long hair animals, occasional unclogging and weekly cleaning of the brushroll.

ANYONE looking at ANY of these cleaning drones to replace an upright vacuum on thick rugs or standard or plush carpet will be disappointed. They just don't have the heft or the agitation needed to do it well. Stick with an upright for those areas.

They also aren't able to mop like a dedicated upright power mop or a regular mop and bucket. The pads are small and because of that they carry limited cleaning solution and hold limited debris. Good for maintenance runs though.

Again, this particular unit for $500, knowing what I know now, is any easy buy. Too good to pass up if you keep your expectations realistic and can live with the constraints I mentioned.

None of the bot vacs are gonna handle shag rugs well. A regular upright will struggle too. Just have to go old school and take those outside and shake them out or beat them with a stick.

Yes. Navigation on this is excellent.

It's powerful. It self fills and self empties. It uses hot air to dry pads. Don't let the specs deceive you. Stronger is better but these units are still somewhat limited relative to the power of an upright or high end canister vac.

More might be better but our 40 handles 1/2-3/4" transitions and climbs up on every rug in our great room just fine. It's clever marketing but I wouldn't pay hundreds more for a few millimeters of climbing. It's just a bot vac not a rock crawler.
