The ASUS Dual Radeon RX 9060 XT 16GB is a compact PCIe 5.0 card that looks strongest as a value upgrade for midrange builds, especially with its 16GB of VRAM and full x16 connection. The 2 fan design is only 202mm long, so it should fit in smaller cases, and the price sits just under MSRP. Performance chatter puts it around 35 percent ahead of a GTX 2070 Super and slightly ahead of a 6700 XT, though the 5060 Ti is often cited as a bit faster. The main knocks are the modest discount, only three display outputs, and some concern about ASUS warranty support.

Common Questions (5)

  • It is a meaningful step up from a GTX 2070 Super, with one comparison putting the 9060 XT about 35% faster. Against an RTX 3070 8GB, the 16GB model can be a worthwhile jump for higher resolutions and ultra settings, but the upgrade may not feel large enough if you only see a move from roughly 30 fps to 50 fps.

  • Yes. The card is a clean 2-fan design and 202mm long, and it should fit even in more constrained true uSFF cases. A similar card has also been used in a 7L ITX build, so this class of GPU can work in very small cases.

  • Yes. It has a full PCIe x16 connection, so you can basically get everything out of the card without the bandwidth limitation that affects some narrower-lane GPUs.

  • On paper the 9060 XT looks stronger, but one cited benchmark puts the 5060 Ti about 5% faster. That makes the 9060 XT the more VRAM-heavy option, while the 5060 Ti may edge it on raw speed.

  • Yes. A Ryzen 5600 or better is recommended to pair with this GPU, and the 1600X is likely to hold it back.

It wouldn't matter one lick if this card uses PCIe 4.0 or PCIe 5.0, but the price is good!

I might just do this. Was holding out to see if the 5070 would drop below $479.99, but this is a crazy deal. Would be a huge upgrade from my 2070Super card 👀

The 5070 wouldve been a "huge" upgrade from your 2070 super. 9060xt is about 35% faster, but the 5070 is around 50% faster although it only has 12GB VRAM. 9060xt is closer to the 5060Ti.

The 5070 is about twice as fast as a 4060 (even faster at 1440p), and a 4060 is a little faster than a 2070S, so I'd say a $450 5070 is definitely worth the additional $110.

I got a 3070 8gb

looked at video comparisons to the 16gb 9060 xt, not worth the $340+tax as an upgrade.

Sure if you go 2160p + ultra settings, the 9060 stomps on the 3070, but going from 30fps avg to 50fps isn't playable IMHO

I'll just stick with what I got for now... maybe next spring build a new system Smilie
