I think I'd bite on these if they didn't have the plastic/rubber handle... rather just keep ratchets all metal.

What's the 40% icon date?
See the attached ad-scan

The ratchets would still be quite expensive compared to the gear wrench even after 40%

( $55 + $70 ) -40% = $75

I believe the Gearwrench performed better than ICON on project farm.

I'm going to try these, I've been wanting a better 3/8 ratchet and the 1/4" is a fine one to have, too. Does the flex head ever get annoying?
I have a flex head from a different maker, I don't like it. A flex head that locks in place is great though - got that to use instead.

If I'm not mistaken, I think Project Farm was comparing the $34 Gearwrench 90T (non-flex head) with the $40 Icon, and yes, the Gearwrench tested better, but other reviewers like the Icon better. It can be a matter of personal preference. Can't go wrong with either. I would personally lean towards the HF Icon for the warranty. Wouldn't sleep on the HF Quinn 90T for $22 either!

Comparing the Icon G2 with Gearwrench 120XP would be more of an apples to apples comparision in the flex head category. The locking flex head versions of these ratchets are comparable in price ($70ish) too, prior to any sales/discounts.

I plan to pick up an Icon w/ locking flexhead next week at 40% off, but this Gearwrench set is a nice deal. If these had locking heads, I would probably bite.

This is a good deal but I have two complaints about these ratchets, I own both.

The 3/8" can be a little too long for using in a wheel well on things like brakes.
The other thing is the anvil has quite a bit more play in it than other ratchets, on both sizes (worse on the smaller one). Doesn't feel as solid and wonder how they will last long term.

I would pull the trigger on this if it would fit in my Milwaukee PACKOUT Socket Set. It only allows a 11.5 inches length.

Oh weird, I didn't see any attached images. Probably user error on my end but I still don't see them. :-)
