I think if they pair like airpods, pressure sensitivity works, hover works, and the charging indicator appears when attached, it's a real one. Should also show up in Settings-> About. No idea for AppleCare, will report back

Yea. Like "real ones" would have Serial Number that would properly show on Settings>About which can be verified on Apple/Applecare right? Unless fakes can do the same? I'm not too familiar the extent of fake Apple products. All I know is that they exist.

That's not necessarily true. I had AirPods Pro that were fake, and everything paired/worked like real ones. They had a legit serial number too, because Apple showed they had AppleCare, but they were registered to 4 different people. Fakes are really, really good.

True Airpod fakes are clever. But pressure sensitivity and hover are Apple Pencil exclusive, no third-party styluses can utilize those features, even fakes afaik.
