OP first posted it at ouraring.com. Staff made it at Amazon, but kept a link to the original site. Suppose they get more commission from Amazon.

Not worth it at all without it. The data you get is incredibly basic

Oura Ring 4 is a sleep and health tracking ring that stands out most for its small form factor and easy overnight wear. The app delivers detailed insights only with a membership, while the free experience is limited to basic scores and little explanation. The first month is free, then the subscription continues at about $8 a month. Costco is repeatedly noted at the same price with extra chargers, which makes the bundle worth comparing.

  • The ring can be used with FSA accounts, which may broaden eligible payment options.

    normz04bageland2000OliveClass436

  • Costco pricing can match the deal price while including an additional charger.

    madhukasarapupghyndmanlangjie

  • The ring is described as passive hardware that only collects data and sends it to a phone app.

    LobsterSquirt

  • A one-month free trial is available, which can help evaluate the app experience before paying.

    WiseRose8215

  • The AMEX $200 credit is described as applying only to ring hardware purchased on ouraring.com, not to subscription or membership fees.

    bageland2000bam099BoastfulManatee1275rajiv

  • The ring experience can become nearly useless after the subscription ends, with only a basic sleep score remaining.

    danielian1Krat0sAlpi18Stevel024

  • Battery life can degrade badly after less than one year of use, which raises replacement or warranty considerations.

    myarami

  • The ring cannot function as a vibrating sleep alarm, since it is described as incapable of alarms or vibration.

How does the data from this ring compared to data from latest galaxy watch?
This may not be the full answer but firstly watch has a display and can do more things like music, display while exercising etc.

For the sleep, heart rate etc you are going to get the same information. The only exception is that Samsung has no paywall. To get the same full data as Samsung you will need the subscription eg variable heart rate, deep sleep etc.

The pro for the ring is the form factor, rings are better than watches for measuring core metrics. some people don't like sleeping with watches etc.

I picked up a gen 3 and resold when they first started the offer. I pocketed about $100 selling on eBay (no takers on FBMP) and there were quite a few on there locally. I just picked up a gen 4 with my 2nd Plat and listed it on FB; I'm going to keep it up on there until after the price increases and then I'll list it on eBay after.
Which size is good for resell?

Tempted to try and see if I like with the 200 dollar amex credit. I liked the idea of the samsung ring as it has no paywall and I already have Samsung everything else. They accept trade in of oura rings. I was thinking 50 dollars spend for this ring after amex credit and then maybe trade in at a future date. certainly I am going to give oura a try.
I dont think it will work. I was the guinea pig. Oura is not mentioned in the transaction that posts to Amex card. The pending charge is Paypal BNPL so unless the posted charge is radically different , no way its going to get the Oura credit.

Does anyone want this? i can buy for you for a fee.
I have $200 credit from Amex. dm if interested.
That credit only works when buying it direct from Oura. Also pretty sure you're violating Amex's TOS with this offer.

Would you recommend this for a 16 years old that plays soccer U-17 team?

I'll say this was a bad impulse purchase for me. After about 2 months, I realized I never cared that much about the data and sold it.

Just an FYI, this deal does not stack if you have a clear account. The 10% discount that comes with being a Clear member only applies to regular prices.

Also, if it helps to anyone who wants to know their ring size prior to ordering and you have a local Costco by you, they usually have an oura ring demo set up and they have all the ring sizes there to try on.

Does not stack with additional discounts (Lululemon, Clear+, Perplexity, etc.) for those trying to sweeten the deal and get it cheaper or fully covered by their Amex Platinum credits (must be purchased on Oura website to receive credits)

Edit: this comment was made before staff took over the post and changed the link from the Oura website to Amazon
If you buy from ouraring.com with an amex platinum the ring is 49 after bill credit

I am interested in buying this but it looks like the membership is a must have for all functionality. Is there anyone who has a 4 and does not have the membership is it still worth it?
I still have a Gen 1 and feel like I get all the stats for free.
