Just something to keep in mind. Cell companies already have scheduled plans to decomm lte. E.g. T-Mobile will start in 2026. Meaning once it's gone in your area you will need to upgrade the module to 5G to have it continue working (the remotes will work regardless though.)

This is pretty decent actually. $549 for Plus members. I just spent about 700 after tax for:
CS4905S-KIT
RFX-2WQ9-FM (Q9 remote plus DM LTE module)
FT-ALARMIT-KIT
And a vehicle-specific $99 T-Harness which in their system wasn't available as "free with purchase" that they wouldn't honor a discount on.

So I got a fancy q9, 1x 2-way and 1x 1-way (that came with 4905). In this one it looks like you get 2x fancy t12's.

Plus, aside from extra parts, there's no ambiguity about whether or not you get charged for my aforementioned add-ons since in this kit, they aren't add-ons.

I actually bought the q9 /DroneMobile kit through them but ended up getting a different one installed from eBay for $60 less that advertised that it came with the X2 instead of the X1. The package looked the same so some of these might just automatically come with x2.

Talk to your installer beforehand about expectations regarding the enabling of your desired features, and allow yourself some time when picking up to make sure said things work. I'm kinda disappointed in the lack of features enabled and the settings in mine:
  • They did remote start for 30min, and the 8 or so of these I've purchased previously all have 15min set.
  • Mine chirps instead of sounding the horn which sounds like the 90's every single time I lock and unlock the car— my first time I added the alarm kit so that might be normal.
  • There is apparently no "pit stop" or "turbo cooldown" enabled. One of the main reasons I bought it, actually -- I want to be able to run into a store and leave things running for a few minutes so ice cream doesn't melt in the Texas summer, or if a tween wants to wait in the car for a few minutes instead of me dragging them inside.
  • Passive arming isn't enabled.
  • I didn't ask about aux features such as toggling AC or rolling windows down.
These are all my fault for not asking, but like I said, I have become accustomed to some of them just being the "right way" without me asking.

Does firsttech even have a 5g module yet?

Not to my knowledge. And the phase out will take quite a while, but the fact that the phase out is on the horizon is something people should be aware of. Especially in densely populated areas as they are usually the first to be phased out.

I ended up buying the module myself for $80 off ebay, several years ago, installing it, making a dealer account, installed and activated it. It's basically one cable to the remote start brain and a GPS antenna routed to your dash.

Whoa. Dealer account? You just mean the dronemobile, right? Could I do that with my remote start? I really don't want to have to bring the stupid thing back to BB just for some settings.

This was like 3-4 years ago but yes, they let me create one. Just don't activate it with the same email address. I guess dealer accounts are different from user accounts. And yes, drone mobile.
