The TX RZ30 stands out as a feature rich 9.2 channel receiver with Dirac Live included, HDMI 2.1, Sonos certification, and enough channels for future expansion. The included Dirac room correction is a major value point, especially since the standalone Dirac RC would cost about $350, and the three year manufacturer warranty adds peace of mind on a new in box unit. The main tradeoffs are the lack of Alexa support and the fact that Dirac calibration has a learning curve. It is a strong fit if you want advanced room correction without paying extra for it.
buyers who are actively hunting for a specific discount code because the TXRZ30 coupon code has been reported as available again and drops the price when applied.
home theater buyers who want Dirac Live out of the box because they're comparing it to models that require paying extra for Dirac (like choosing the TX-RZ30 over a used Denon x3500h) and they also want HDMI 2.1 plus more channels.
people setting up room correction for a 5.1 or 5.1.2 speaker plan because they can start with the included DLRC first and then decide later about DLBC if there's a good deal.
people who don't want to deal with Dirac calibration complexity because a commenter warns Dirac has a learning curve and that the calibration process can cause confusion and misinformation.
buyers who are only looking for basic room correction and don't care about paying for extra Dirac features because one commenter says DLBC/ART typically isn't worth paying another ~$300 and suggests not needing more than 9 channels after Dirac.
The TX-RZ30 adds more channels, HDMI 2.1, and Dirac Live, while the Denon X3500H offers Audyssey XT32 and can be much cheaper used. The choice comes down to whether you want the newer feature set or the lower upfront cost.
Yes. Electronics Expo shows the TX-RZ30 in stock and the code TXRZ30 drops $200 from the $999 price, bringing it to the same deal level mentioned in the thread.
Yes. Dirac Live room correction is included, and the bundled Dirac RC would cost about $350 separately. That makes the RZ30 attractive if you want Dirac without paying extra for it.
That's what I usually do. This is new in box for an RZ line receiver, which provides a three year manufacturer warranty. With the card you get another year, unless you pay with something like the Citi Strata card which provides two extra years.
Failure rate for most electronics will be highest in the first year, but I have no idea how long before components start breaking down for these newer receivers.
Ordered! Thanks for the good advice and EE discount code. I kept using EE links from the wrong threads and they were Refurbished units and/or listed as unavailable. Can't wait for the RZ30 to be delivered.
Oh really? I'm familiar with REW but didn't know about A1EVO and will look into it. I was considering the recent sale on an x3800h to have both Audyssey and Dirac options, but the added Dirac cost kind of makes it impractical. The x3500h seller locally isn't very responsive so I hope it isn't a scam.
Yes the 3800 has many more features, hence the extra cost.
If they are not needed, no reason to pay for them.
FYI to get the Dirac RC that's included with this would cost $350 right now.
Very soon Dirac's annual Holiday sale will be up.
It will likely be 20% off as last year, most hoping it will go back to 30%.
There is a current Dirac sale going on right now for Denon/Marantz.
Unless you were going to buy all 3 of their RCs, better to wait for the coming Holiday sale coming up.
I already bought the RZ30, but out of curiosity is A1 Evo Express only for Denons/Marantz?
Yes tied to Audyssey I believe.
If you have no brand preference, don't need more than 9 channels & after Dirac.
This, even at this price is a really good buy!
People make a big deal about ART.
TBH hardly anyone in here finds any value in DLBC, they're not gonna spend another $300 on ART!
Helpful tip:
Dirac has a bit of learning curve.
The calibration process causes a lot of confusion not to mention the misinformation.
This is thee best process to follow in my experience.
If you're interested in DLBC at all.
Wait for likely next week, Dirac should come out with their BF sale. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=gjWZUZ1MeDg Solid purchase enjoy!

Thanks for the link. I have some time to study up since the RZ30 won't arrive until after Black Friday.
I want to give the included DLRC a try first, but am also curious about DLBC and will consider adding if there's a good deal. I have a Yamaha RX-V381 right now and I don't think YPAO did a very good job with room correction. Voices are a little hard to hear sometimes and the bass seems lacking. Of course it could also be my speakers but I tried an RSL Speedwoofer a few years ago and, despite being highly rated, it sounded too boomy in our open living/dining/kitchen room. I look forward to hearing what Dirac can do with the 5.1 speakers I have now and then plan to slowly add some floorstanding speakers and upgrade my sub for 5.1.2.

Yes definitely give Dirac Live a shot.
As mentioned almost everyone is content with it & have no need for DLBC.
Keep in mind, room correction(Dirac) does not improve the quality of your speakers.
Secondly Dirac Live does not correct your sub(s)/bass, that's all within DLBC.
It uses the AVRs bass management to calculate it into the calibration.
You should set up the sub prior to calibration.

That's where I am a little confused. I agree room correction won't make bad speakers good, but my understanding is better EQ and room correction could influence the sound quality and maybe make certain frequencies less muddled. Or no? I think I have decent speakers (NHT 2.1 SuperZero bookshelves) and am hoping proper room correction and EQ will help make them sound best in my space. Are my expectations unreasonable?

My general opinion on this from doing this for a few moons!
Basically there are no "bad" speakers, you see the proof of that constantly.
What I meant was RC doesn't turn say entry level speakers into high end speakers.
It may help them perform more to their capabilities but it's not magic.
Top 3 things that affect the sound you hear(SQ).
Quality of all your speakers, their placement & room environment.
Too often people put the cart before the horse with all this ime.
As far as frequencies & RC.
Low bass frequencies is by far the most crucial to manage/correct.
That's the constant talk, about how people manage it.
Ultimately sound is completely subjective.
If after listening you find it satisfies your expectations then you are good to go imo.
