These are TERRIBLE for 24/7. Mine failed after less than one-half year.

Shucking does not void the warranty, no matter how much companies claim it does. The FTC has issued repeated warnings to companies to stop claiming it.

Can definitely shuck! Putting it into a NAS depends on your risk tolerance and whether or not you have critical data in there.

I personally use these for Plex storage

Barracuda drives. Shucking voids the warranty. Also I hate how much needless plastic junk they throw into the box, the external power supply comes with adapters for every socket on earth. Feels like a big middle finger to the environment.

If you already ordered from B&H last night, BHP customer service can price match to this deal from Seagate and refund you $10+taxes. I just did and got a refund on my cc.

crazy how this is same price as a 20TB WD External (on sale). If I wasn't worried about reliability I'd jump on this.

correction: it's $10 more
