I bought this deal on AE 2 weeks ago.

I got a tracking number that was coming to my zip... Delivered but nothing to me, proof of delivery from UPS shows an envelope on a doorstep.

I contacted AE, they flat out denied any wrong doing, citing the 'package was delivered'. I called again, the rep agreed with me, no refund, and said to find a more reputable seller next time.

I then made a claim through PayPal, submitted photos and screenshots, got denied because the seller said it was delivered.

I just called PayPal today to ask for somebody to manually look at the evidence I provided, they agreed and reversed the decision in my favor.

3 weeks down the drain.

This bike has regular "26 inch" mountain bike rims with a smaller road tire on them. ("26 inch" wheels are only 26" in outer diameter if you install a big 2"+ mountain bike tire.)

These problems could all be avoided if people and manufacturers used the two-number ETRTO designations that are printed on every bicycle tire. For this bike you need replacement tires that are 559/xx. 559 means the tire fits on rims that are 559mm in diameter. The second number "xx" is the approximate width of the inflated tire, so you probably want something between 559/35 and 559/45 if you ever wear out the originals.

ETRTO of 29er and 700c tires is 622/xx. xx will be 21-30 for skinny road tires, and something like 48-67 for big mountain bike tires.

One advantage of this bike is the external battery. It doesn't look as suave as internal batteries, but it means you're more likely to find a generic replacement years down the road. It also lets you bring the battery inside to charge it. This makes it less likely to be stolen while chained outside, and if it's cold outside, the battery will last a lot longer because it'll be warm when you leave.

Paypal claim is useless. They side with the seller. I have to get amex to involve to get my money back just a few days ago, that is how i know paypal is trash now.

I got either this one or one very similar at walmart for almost double and don't regret it. Only complaint I had was the inner tires are cheap and the rear one blew out after a month. A $10 fix, but annoying process to replace on a basically new bike. Pedal assist is very nice, especially as an older guy getting back into riding after 2 decades.
E-bikes are notorious for blowing out tubed tires. You need to switch to TUBELESS asap. The added speed + weight load of an e-bike will pop tubes weekly. If it were tubeless the cost would increase.

My ebike weighs about 20lbs more than this one and goes up to 35mph. Been about 2k miles since I replaced a tube. I got one flat during those 2k miles but I use those slime-filled inner tubes, so I was able to re-inflate and the hole sealed.

I got a lot of flats when I first got the bike but I think that was largely due to the tires being under-inflated, leading to pinch-flats, and me riding on bumpy sidewalks (legal in my area and no, I wasn't going anywhere near max speed on the sidewalk). I ride in the road now and, with proper inflation, rarely see a flat.

Never had an issue with tubes on my custom built ebike or my 5th wheel ebike.

I got a 5th wheel ebike off temu a while back and love it. It's been great so far. I had a few questions about the battery type, emailed their customer support, they sent me a second one for free.

Only thing odd about this listing, unless I'm missing it, is it doesn't list the voltage anywhere. Guessing it's a 36v but thats normally a highlighted spec for most ebikes.

Bought this 2 weeks ago when it was FP.

Got scammed, actually got denied my PP claim despite the evidence, I called PP and asked if they could manually look at what I provided, they agreed with me.

AliExpress told me to 'find a more reputable seller' next time, otherwise they were of 0 help since the package was 'delivered'.

Not "all the way" LOL. Paypal will almost hardly ever give you a refund if the seller can provide some sort of tracking that shows some random thing got delivered. Ran into it 3 times on Ebay and had to go thru my bank. I quit using PayPal because of it and I was with them for over 12 years. AliExpress is 100% known for scams. My bank(SoFi) won't even allow purchases to go thru.

Agree with this....PayPal screwed me and Discover has also been a pain to work with on a $100 purchase that never arrived....PayPal said it arrived even though the shipping company that provided "tracking" doesn't even exist.

I've filed two cases through Paypal over 15 years. I found their system hard to navigate and impersonal. Lack of follow through. I have little confidence in them

Man this is tough. I didn't find any reviews of this AB17 model and the few 5th wheel reviews on the tube say the battery doesn't met the spec.

I used to use PayPal on AE until I too got screwed. Was sent the wrong item. Finally after raising to Paypal they got an agreement to refund if I returned the item. The return address was in Germany. I'm in the US and the item didn't even ship to me from Germany. Pure shenanigans. It would have cost more to send back than the refund was worth. I've had to do future refund requests but switched to Amex. Magically getting AE to side with me is no longer a problem.

Recently, experienced the same thing with aliexpress and paypal. I got a defective bike from urlife from aliexpress. They refused to pay for the return shipping on the defective bike. Got paypal involved, paypal just automatically ask me to return the item and i should be the one to cover the return shipping. Paypal no longer provides the buyer protection like it did 10 pr some years ago. Last time i file a claim with paypal was probably 15 years ago. Now, they just automatically side with the seller even though I provided clear evidence that the bike is in fact defective with a visibly bent handle bar. I finally got amex involved, and amex gave me the money back. Don't trust aliexpress, don't trust paypal. They both offer no help when things go south. Also, don't trust these ali sellers, they offer low price but there won't be customer service nor product warranty when you need it.
