Buying used SSDs is like buying used underwear or toilet paper. No good reason to do so.

Totally agree. When I saw USED I literally said "Ew".

Never, I mean never make generalizations without knowing the details and the value proposition involved.

Thanks for posting. The one I received tested well and had 3 hours and 12 power on counts with just under 2tb written (maybe a wipe?).

Price is finally about right, but these things are god-aweful slow and all over the map! I had two of them back to back with wildly different test results, none of which even came close to spec! I was not about to waste anymore of my time with a 3rd chance attempt! I moved on to Samsung.
I have never had problems with WD drives, until these. All of my HDD's from WD work according to spec, but these blue SSD's are crap!

Some men will pay quite a bit of money for used unwashed panties.

There are very few things I would say never for, but buying used SSDs or hard drives is definitely one of them. I would really hesitate even if it were given to me for free. Just not worth the risk at all.

These are hard to wipe such that the usage info disappears. In fact, I have not heard about anybody being able to do so on WDs.

Most likely what you got is indeed a 3 hour use drive.

Totally disagree about the comment avoiding used hdd/ssd. I buy these all the time just need to be careful and check when they arrive. Return them if not right
