I came here looking for an electric kettle after the Mueller I bought in 2023 crapped out with no notice. I will not be re-buying. My last Ovente kettle lasted 7 years, and the Mueller was very lightly used.

Bought one of these 3 years ago- I've had to replace the thermostat/switch twice and the plastic mesh near the spout had deteriorated completely. Coming from an old black and decker I had for a decade and a half, it's quite disappointing.

It has plastic on the lip and the mesh filter is plastic. So regardless of the benefit that your boiling water won't be sitting in plastic, it still passes through and over plastic before reaching your cup. Of course most teabag nowadays are made of plastic too. Nothing beats a ceramic or stainless steel kettle over the range.

Do not buy this. Any kettle that doesn't open wide for cleaning is a huge pain in the ass.

Get chefman instead. It has different temperature settings and shows you temperature in real time as it heats up. Also has lights built in and a keep warm function. We love ours. Lid comes off entirely for easy cleaning

I know there's a lot of complaints here, but anecdotally, I had a good experience with this kettle. Used it daily for coffee for 4 years until I decided to go with a gooseneck.

Can we find a gooseneck within the same price range? I've been searching for one, but it's not affordable. I recently saw one at Costco and thought it was a good deal until I realized it was $130.
