I've got a tab s9+ and would like to upgrade to the S11 Ultra, mainly for media consumption at home and when traveling. Sucks there's not a good way to trade in directly. Seems like could sell it privately for around $400ish... Worth $300 to upgrade to S11 ultra?

Not really. Or rather, it takes away some of the instant credit that you get. So for an S10 Ultra, it says it gives you $800 credit, but it only drops the price around $400, because a lot of the credit it's giving with no trade is removed.

Samsung does this kind of crap all the time with trade ins and credits, btw.

I'm in the same boat, S9U mostly for letting kids watch videos on trips. Unless you really want a new warranty, it's not worth spending the extra money. The chip in the S9U is still awesome, does everything super fast and smooth, there's really not much in the S11U that makes it a significant upgrade for day to day use.

I'll wait for the tab s12 at this point because next year the tab s9 would get the last software update so make more sense to get rid of it next year

Afaik, they made minor improvements, but nothing major this time around. Accd to MKBHD though, the S11 Ultra is still "Dope Tech"

Interesting, the trade-in option did not work for me. As mentioned above, if you switch to trade-in, it gets rid of the instant savings.
