This still has that horrible rubber that will disintegrate in a few years. I don't suggest anyone buy this unless you want a disposable mouse. There are cheaper clones that don't have such glaring weaknesses (like the ProtoArc EM01, which also supports an extra Bluetooth connection).

I have the MX Master 3S and the rubber around the thumb is worn down. Lately I've been using grip tape, and that covers that area. A diy/economical option would be double sided tape and tennis racket grip. I'd imagine the same mod can be used on the MX Ergo as well to prolong the longevity.


It sucks that rubbery material gets worn down like this. Apparently they switched to a shell using a more plasticky material around high use areas on the MX 4, but it doesn't seem worth it for me to upgrade just for that.


Do you have the ProtoArc? I'm trying to decide between the MX Ergo S, the Protoarc EM01, and the Nulea M511
