I've seen people return milk that's only got maybe 1 cup (out of a gallon) left, return salmon fillet that's 90% eaten, People return printers that have toner/ink used up.
Lots of people abuse the generous costco return policy.

On the Amazon page for the Airpods 4 with anc it shows 6 3rd party sellers but all 6 3rd party sellers and shipped from and sold by those sellers. The only seller shipping from Amazon is Amazon itself as the seller. I'm not 100% sure if each Amazon listing is its own ASIN (Amazon stock id number) but if it is, that would mean that there can't be any others intermingled with the Amazon stock, as any other listing for such an item in Amazon's warehouse by a 3rd party seller would be under a separate ASIN and be sorted and shipped separately. Granted I don't fully know all the ins and outs of how it works at Amazon, but as a logical consumer this is what I would expect. Granted if I got a clearly opened package or one with an additional Amazon sticker on it, implying it was returned I'd likely just return that and order again or give up and go to costco
