Wasn't wireless or capable of working standalone, no chance the average person would pick this over a quest, sony went from psps working standalone to ps portals

He probably means that for the PS5, the PSVR2 has been de-prioritized from Sony's perspective and will be getting minimal budget going forward. Sony still technically supports the product and third-party developers may continue to publish games for the PSVR2 on the PS5 but Sony itself likely won't for their games.

However, buy this + the PSVR2 PC adapter ($60 MSRP) and you have a solid wired PC-VR headset with OLED and a 2000x2040 per-eye resolution that works well with SteamVR.

I got the PSVR2 for GT7 on the PS5 and I use it on the PC, judge me all you wish, mostly for VR porn. I got it for around this price a couple years ago when Sony was dumping them and I don't regret it at all.

If the valve frame wasn't just announced I would buy this to replace my meta 3s as a PC headset in a heartbeat. Those OLED screens are a nice upgrade.

Sure, this won't do everything, and you have to be fine with being tethered and understand the limitations, but if you have a PS5 and a gaming PC there's plenty of value to be had here. Even just being able to play your whole PlayStation library over the headset can be appealing if you don't have the best TV or struggle to share with the family.

I bought one last year when Sony had the free year of Netflix deal. Still haven't used it. Any deals on just the charger?

So uh.. ahem.. how/where do you get the vr porn experience? Just by visiting a website, or do you watch downloaded videos.. I'm just asking for a friend, of course..

Yup, Sony failed big time on this one.. They also should have designed this with backwards compatibility with the psvr1 games.

I use HereSphere VR Video Player in SteamVR and I get the VR180 MP4 files off torrents myself (judge me even more for not paying for my porn). You can obviously subscribe to legit sites like WankzVR, SLR or NaughtyAmerica if you want to pay. Then you just download the files from them.

As for the VR experience, oh some say the novelty wears off... not for me. Unless I'm feeling very lazy I almost always will choose the VR experience versus flat-screen. It's much better.

Thanks bro, appreciate your honesty. No judging here.. Just about everyone watches but most won't admit it.

Absolutely not. Get the PC adapter and you can use it with tons of modern games and it has support out of the box.

This has been going down to $299 every year or so since the announcement of the bad sales figures. I'm hoping it goes even lower next year and these get blown out for like $200.
