This refurbished Dyson V15 Detect Total Clean Extra is praised as a powerful cordless vacuum that cleans well, with the detect feature and multi surface head reducing head swaps on hard floors, carpets, and rugs. Refurb units often arrive looking brand new and can run strongly for years, and Dyson support has resolved some issues quickly. The main cautions are the short 6 month warranty on Dyson direct refurbs, a small dust bin that fills fast, and occasional DOA or sensor failures. A solid value if you want V15 performance and can accept refurb risk.
Common Questions (4)
Yes. Reported issues include DOA motors that cut out after a few seconds, an auto-sensing feature failure, and even receiving a V8 part labeled for a V15. Dyson support has sometimes resolved the problem quickly, but some units clearly need service or replacement.
The deal can be stacked with eBay coupons and PayPal Pay in 4 cashback offers, bringing the total to about $240 or even around $215 before tax in some setups. Some buyers also used Capital One or Citi cards and cashback portals to lower the effective price further.
Refurbished Dyson vacuums sold directly by Dyson are covered by a 6-month parts-and-labor warranty. Some eBay refurb listings have included a 2-year Allstate warranty, and direct Dyson refurb purchases may have stronger warranty coverage than third-party listings.
The unit can arrive looking brand new and has been reported to perform well for months or years. A common tradeoff is that the dust bin is small and fills quickly, so it may need frequent emptying.
