Walmart would be easier to return but I sometimes have cash back offers on my CC for Dyson.

I believe it is a one year warranty. If the ebay listing wasnt out of stock, that would be the way to go as it comes with a 2 year Allstate warranty.

I bought some time back from eBay and the unit was like new (or was new?) and has performed great. I've had it for at least a year. The multi surface head along with the detect means I basically never change the head unit when going from hard surface to carpets and rugs. My only issue is that the dust container is small and this thing pics up so much dirt and dust that I have to dump it frequently.

I only buy Dyson products refurbished. I have the V11 and got the blow dryer for my wife and both were basically new. Running strong for several years now. I personally would never pay full retail for Dyson. If comes in plain brown box verse the fancy shelf packaging, which is likely a big driver of the price difference.

I've done one of these refurbished deals before with the hair dryer and with daily use it's still holding up well. I use a CC with the extended warranty benefit, so that helps. I got this for my mom.
